    Well done CMD.

Brilliant on the presents front and the savings made and on the 2lb weight loss. Keep going. It is great when you have those days when you feel fantastic and happy.

Keep us posted of your progress.

  • Thanks!

Yeah, I was feeling really crappy last week and just felt like going on a massive spending spree but luckily I reined myself in and stopped myself. I suppose this is what the debt free journey is like, full of highs and lows!

  • Sounds like you did really well with the boots shopping - I am going there over the weekend - I have 3 people I need to buy for and I'm hoping I can get them all sorted out with the 3 for 2's!
Well done on the weight loss too - I think 7lb b4 christmas is achievable, just over a 1lb a week.

  • Thanks MissO,

You are doing really well too, I am following your thread with great interest. I had to go online to boots.com as the Boots near me is quite big and I get totally overwhelmed when I go in and then I start looking at things for myself, and then I get depressed cos I can't afford them. I think the 3 for 2's are amazing. I thought it would be all the rubbish stuff, but it's not, it's all good stuff.

1lb a week, now when you break it down it doesn't seem that bad! Need to munch on hummous instead of wispas!

Well done CMD you're doing great. I have gotten most of my pressies using amazon vouchers from Toluna, but do still need to find a couple of bits for OH. Just bought a big family present we can all enjoy and then £5 each after that (£10 on my brother but he's 18 so I still treat him like a kid when it comes to Christmas!).

  • Hi Dinah,

How are you? How long until you see OH now? What are you doing for Xmas? Will you see each other for some of the time? I am going back to Ireland for Xmas. Can't wait!

You sound as organised as ever with the presents. I was delighted to get a lot of them bought and out of the way to be honest. I also recycled 2 of my old mobile phones and sent them to Boots.com so I am hoping they will raise enough points so I can get my sister something else for her birthday. She is having a fairly rough time of it with the recession at the moment (as is everyone) but I want to get her nice smellies to cheer her up as she loves pampering herself!

  • Hi all,

Well, had a fairly quiet weekend and didn't spend much money, well apart from food shopping but that is my one passion in life so if I cut down on that too much I would get very very depressed. Saying that, I haven't been out for my lunch/dinner for over 2 weeks so that is a record for me. And do you know what, I don't really miss it. It was pure laziness that had me going out most of the time, or ringing a take away (which I haven't done for over a month).

Feeling impatient to get my debt below 20k, but I don't see that happening until about May time. It is a huge landmark for me, as I haven't been under that for a long time.

    Well done CMD.

£20K is a landmark I am so looking forward to reaching too. Think you will reach it long before me.

    Good work though so far.

That could be ANOTHER incentive along with all my percentages and landmark totals.

All of these little things help.
