Maybe he should have stated what the whole charge was in his initial post though - a £25 charge to get the card enabled manually if you have no phone line connected to your box.

This is what i did say in my original post. £25 to activate the viewing card if you have no phone line!

I didn't say Sky can charge what they like, Once again i said £25 to activate the viewing card if you have no phone line:rolleyes: , where does the any amount come from?

If you phoned sky on this issue you would get 100% the same answer. What point are you trying to make as i dont recall giving you wrong information?

Freesat from sky is similar to freeview however you would need to purchase the equipment or a viewing card for £20, where as with freeview you only need to buy the box or a freeview tv. If you would like a more detailed explanation the you could call Sky. You never know you might get ME :eek:

If you have an existing subscription that you then cancel, your card reverts to a FreesatfromSky card and not a freeview card.

There's no need to go and pay £20 for another card.

That's the point we're trying to make.

Indeed, as you say, if you buy your own box, to get all the Freesatfromsky channels you need to pay £20 for a card.

1. Freesat from Sky is not freeview.

2. If you cancel Sky you will only get approx 44 freeview channels (not freesat).

4. The £20 freesat from sky card is exactly the same in appearance as any sky subs viewing card.

Some people seem to be getting confused with the 2 different products.
This is the only point i was trying to make.

If you cancel, you still have your existing card in your box giving you all the Freesat channels.
No card in the box gives you 44 channels.

Again, I've never mentioned that FreesatfromSky and Freeview is the same.

Your existing card from the cancelled subscription acts as the FreesatfromSky card. Why buy another card for £20 that does exactly the same?
