I think its really sad and quite nasty that people are coming on here and s*****g off the daily thread, its quite simple if you dont like it, then dont look at it.

I am also guilty of going off topic, and will try to stop it, but a thread full of: wm on sc on washing out would be dull.

I know that the chat is a lifeline for some of the posters who are housebound due to illness, and its a great support thread, two of the regular posters have recently lost someone close to them, and I am sure the support must have helped them in some way.

As for it being full of clicky mums, its not, I am a fairly new poster and never felt that I did not belong, perhaps you should post, you will be amazed at the welcome you get.
I am sorry thet some of the ;long standing posters have left, please come back.

I think it shoud stay basically how it is, with perhaps a bit less chat, for those who are moaning about it, then dont look.

I am off to have a look back at the thread from a few years back to see how it has changed.
I suggest you direct that at the board guides who started this thread, your attitude for me typifies what is wrong with that thread.
This is a money saving forum NOT a cliquey chat forum.

    Lilibeth,

you seem to be on here for an argument, which I will not be drawn into, you have given your opinion, which I think is now enough.

Maybe we could post our OS bits in red, so the people who aren't interested, or are bored, looking at what's going on in other peoples daily lives can just skim the thread looking for these.I can't think of any other solution really, as the thread is great as it is imo:D

And permission was given by the MSE team to have the Daily thread on the OS board. Why are you so desperate to see it moved? Can't you just ignore it as you hate it so much and think we are all so pathetic?
This is a forum for money saving, but more than any other board within moneysaving OS is becoming dominated by pointless OT chatter.
If it continues I'll be looking for another consumer forum, one which actually is about saving money.
And as I said earlier we were asked for our opinions by the board guides.

Thanks for that, but I am WELL aware of what the original question was  , what I am saying is that there is no need for people to be nasty. My attitude ? pot kettle black ??

    My attitude!!!

    An open thread is posted.

    I and others answer

You tell people to keep out if they don't like it

I remind you that the thread was there for opinions

    and I've got an attitude???

    What a charmer.

Simply not true. Have you been on DFW or Marriage and Families recently?

To MagentaSue... I too feel that some people with young children spend alot of time online on MSE (not especially on the Daily though) but really, who are we to judge? You may want to tell people to get out a bit more but perhaps you should remember that there are those who simply can't.

Honestly, I'm mindful of that and I wouldn't have made the comment if this thread hadn't asked for views. I am the last person who would say someting like that to anyone, but it's my gut reaction. It seems as if the daily thread is the new daytime TV in some homes and I do wonder what it's like for children whose carers spend their days online.

Just my opinion - I wouldn't dream of posting this on a thread not asking for views. This is just how the daily thread makes me feel - yes, I choose not to lok at it, but we have been asked why.

For me, Old Style is about discussing the old way of doing things, not a substitute for real life. I understand that some people do want and maybe need this but I'd rather not have it on this board. If it stays, it won't bother me - but the thread asked for all views not just those who use the daily thread.

I think the message is - we want your views, but only if they agree with the current way of thinking...why are people getting upset about others posting their opinions - on a thread asking for opinions???

And it's not a clique, no not at all...no siree

Please peeps can we keep this thread civil :D *I'm getting a real sense of deja vu here*

I'm probably one of the 'guilty' ones moaning about my medical things ATM :o
sorry everyone as I'm housebound currently this site is the ONLY thing keeping me going..please lets be constructive with this thread.

I do try to make a positive contribution most days as well and I love to see what other people are doing in their lives.I came here from the DFW board and it just feels so comfortable to be with like minded souls.

In any forum there are always 'falling outs' and I think on the whole most people on OS get along even when they disagree it doesn't often turn nasty like on some boards here

I think this forum actually does care about saving money but it also cares about people and helping them in their daily lives ,,and if one can help someone else then thats fine with me ,,I like helping others if I can ,,even making them laugh is helping them ,,when I need someones help I ask my friends on here and am usually helped by someone in one way or another and I couldnt ask for more support if it is needed

    thankyou

I love this thread the way it is ,,
