    Thanks for the info Beth!

DD works there so might get her to bring some back later in the week.

Slurping a quick cup of coffee before DH wants to set off. He has some time at home this week to get stuff done so can't smuggle stuff I have bought up my jumper as I think he might notice!;)

  • hi all. Just been reading the other thread and cant work out why some people are so angry wtih this thread. someone who has only posted 24 times has posted 4 times over there telling us all how wrong this thread is. i know I don't post often but I do read everyday.
Today I am trying my new BM I got from freecycle. |before this thread I thogth BM were a waste of time and had never heard of freecycle, so I think this thread is a good thing and i like how you all support each other.

Yesterday i made some marmalade which is still as runny as it was in the pan, i hope to find a way to make it set and can only think of pouring all the contents of the jars back in the pan and adding pectin ( if i can find somewhere local that sells it) does anyone know if this will work or not please?

    SD

Sunny, i would be inclined to put it back in the pan with some more sugar, you can get sugar with pectin in at sainsbugs, give it a good rolling boil, and do the saucer test in the fridge, you will have to wash and re steralize all of your jars, but this should work xx

Annie star, dont get upset, that is what the nasty posters want xx

I want another cup of tea so will just warm up the one that has gone cold in the teapot from this morning!

Also, lunch is leftovers from yesterday and the day before (2 different rice dishes) mixed with leftover veg and turned into soup.

Going to soak chick peas, enough for a few meals to freeze as well as our main meal tomorrow.

I am having a shiatsu massage (for health reason) but instead of going to a therapist (£40+) I go to a shiatsu college clinic (£15).

On my return I shall make some quince and apple jam with quinces I scrounged off someone yesterday, who has a tree in her allotment, and cut it down with apples to make it go further.

    Hope this helps!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Elona - meant to post on here that Lidl's are going to do energy saving lightbulbs at 39p each or 5 for 50p next week, just in case Sainsbugs or Morries don't have them.

Annie - oh it's awful hearing you so upset, please don't be, I'm sure things will all get sorted out here. It's been so lovely hearing you so excited about your concerts, now off you go to your happy place to think about them and stop worrying - please! xxx

Courgettes are done - if anyone is still interested in the saga! lol!

Off to bash down door of my friends house now! Argh!
