I've spoken to my gp they said nothing can be done because im so early on and I have to just rest and do a test in 5 days, they said it could be a period I cant help but think the worst is happening

A cousin of mine had periods for a few months during one of her pg's and everything turned out ok so try not to worry.

If the bleeding and/or pain gets worse please take yourself to A&E just to get checked over.

    Take care

I 'road tested' the Insteadcup last night, in preparation for OV this weekendish. It's certainly 'interesting' inserting it. I'm not sure that doing the deed downstairs then running upstairs to get one really did anything to keep the swimmers in, but I'll make sure I have one to hand wherever I am next time :p . DH made me chuckle with his observation... 'It's MASSIVE'!!!

I tried mine the other day - your DH is right, it's HUGE! :rotfl:It says you can use it when you have sex when you have af - I really don't see how - it's not exactly unobtrusive or discreet. Still, I did find it comfortable. Not sure I'd rely on it for af though, as by the time I went to remove it, it wasn't quite where I left it and it seemed to be trying to escape! Maybe the curve of my pelvic bone isn't enough for it to sit behind without slipping, or I'd not quite placed it correctly.. We'll see how it goes for use after bd-ing. Think I'll have to send DH into another room while I wrestle with it!

FE - your post about the cap made me fall about laughing! I bet the GP's face was a picture! :rotfl:

The high risk signs are heavy bright red bleeding, clots and significant pain, so if you have any of those maybe call the doctor again for advice, but if its less than that try to keep the faith.

I just wanted to say that although the signs you mention are usual when having a mc, so is not having any signs.....if that makes sense.

With both of my mc's the only thing I had wrong was dirty brown spotting, like the end of a period. I got this at 6 weeks gone both times.

  • Glad your appt went well Bunnie. I wish my appt was so productive! I have to book myself in for a HSG too, but they only do one at my hospital on a Tuesday morning. Unfortunately with AF starting on a Sat they won't do it while I'm still bleeding, and the following Tuesday is too late in my cycle, so I have to wait another month and see how that falls. I might consider having it done privately depending on cost.

Annie I found the insteadcup quite comfy too, but had an odd 'tummy ache' with it in. Not sure if it was linked - I guess I'll find out over the next few days after BDing!! FE - I'm so glad I didn't read about your cap-mishap whilst at work; it would certainly have taken some explaining!

Nichart - I hope you're OK and that it's nothing to worry about.

I have definitly had a miscarriage bit upset today now I know I think once the tears have gone I will be ok, it was not meant to be but I will be trying again as soon as I can, one thing at least I know I can get pregnant I have been wondering for about 4 years, Thank you all for your advice x x
  • Nichart, so sorry for your bad news Hun.
You are right to take that positive thought that YES YOU CAN from it - that is what got me through my ectopic last year, the knowledge that it showed I can actually get pregnant!
Take it easy and rest, and be kind to yourself.
You know that I went through it again at the beginning of the month, and many others on here have done so, so we all can feel a little of your pain and know it is hard, but every day gets a little easier.
    Thinking of you,
