Just thought I should pop back on to let you know I am still around, just nothing much to report at the moment, just in need of a moan really!

Waiting for my consultant appt which is not until the 12th Feb - keep trying for a cancellation but nothing has come up earlier. If she says we are OK to try again, even if she would let us try on this cycle (I'm thinking not, as I expect she'll want me to have a 'normal' cycle after the M/C), it would be too late by the time we have the appt  .
It also won't be poss. to go for it the next cycle, as we'll be away with the SK's & some of DH's family at the time we would be doing the stimming injections - lack of privacy on a narrow-boat so no way we could keep the stuff in the fridge and do the injections without them knowing  , so it's gonna be at least another 2 cycles before we can try again......so really I'm looking at the end of May/Beginning of June before I could be PG again....and I'll be 39 in June  .

On discussion with the above with DH, he thinks it would be a good idea to "have a break from TTC anyway".....I almost threw the teapot at him for that one:angry: ! FGS - HE is the one who says we have to stop trying when he hits 50 as he thinks he'll be 'too old' to be a new dad after that (I know that lots of blokes manage perfectly well, but he thinks he knows best as he's already a dad:rolleyes: ....) - as he's 9.5 older than me, that only gives us 2 more years of trying and I'm really starting to feel a panic that time is running out.

Can you guess that I'm feeling really down today?!? I had a good & busy w/e and was starting to feel a lot better about things, but it's just all hit me again and today I feel like I am not coping very well.

Hope everyone else having a better day,

    FE

Have got my first appointment at the Fertility Unit today (3:30) it's with one of the fertility nursing team who apparently will record all clinical details, organise necessary tests and discuss fertility problems.

I have already had a test to see if I am ovulating through my GP but know that the hospital will want to do their own, hope they will do it today because I am currently ovulating (don't want to have to wait another month because I am terrified of needles and will get all wound up about it)

Have wrote a little down about medical background and also any questions I want to ask, is there anything else I should do before going?
  • Nicki and nichart - CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your BFPs... may there be more to follow!!

Welcome to the newbies too... good luck!

FE - keep your chin up. It must be so hard feeling like the clock is constantly ticking louder and louder. I keep thinking the same, but I'm 34, so a few years behind... you've put things into perspective a little for me, thank you ;)

Bunnie - I'd definitely take a list of the questions you want to ask. I totally blanked when I got to my consultation. It's also worth knowing your cycle length, I had mine jotted down in my diary. Other than that pretty much everything will have been sent to the hospital by your doc. I hope the appt goes well.

I 'road tested' the Insteadcup last night, in preparation for OV this weekendish. It's certainly 'interesting' inserting it. I'm not sure that doing the deed downstairs then running upstairs to get one really did anything to keep the swimmers in, but I'll make sure I have one to hand wherever I am next time :p . DH made me chuckle with his observation... 'It's MASSIVE'!!!

    He He!

When I had a cap (back in those naieve days when I tried to avoid getting PG, in the mistaken belief that ANY unprotected sex was going to lead to the patter of tiny feet - what a con!) I regularly used to 'ping' it across the room, leaving 'splats' of spermicide jellly everywhere...in fact when I was being taught how to put it in by the GP I lost hold of it, and it hit her right in the face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could be nothing at all to worry about but IMO I'd go to A&E. They *should* scan you to see whats going on inside.
Be prepared for a wait though because if you aren't in alot of pain they make you wait your turn.....well they did me when I went.

Best of luck and I hope its nothing to worry about.

Whew!! I've got a lot of tests to go for, didn't realise how many I would have to have. DH has got to do 2 sperm tests, one this Friday and the next one on 13th March.

I have to have a day 21 blood test (which also includes Chlamydia test and testing for my immunity to Rubella) and a day 2 blood test. I have to have an internal ultrasound and also a HSG test which I need to book myself as soon as my next period arrives.

The fertility nurse was lovely and really good, gave us loads of leaflets to read. Guess its just a waiting game then now and do the tests and see the consultant again on 30th March.

DH is very stressed out about it all though, bless him.

Nichart - hope everything is ok xxx

Don't panic yet (easier said than done I know). If I read your posts right, this was your first month on clomiphene, and you are on about CD31 of a normal 28 day cycle. It is possible that the clomid made you OV a little later, and that this is just implanatation bleeding, particularly if it is light and you are not in major pain. Try and take as much rest as you can, and stay as calm as you can. At least then you'll know you've done everything you possibly can. I had some bleeding when I was pregnant with DD1 in my first trimester and it was nothing to worry about and she went to full term.

The cramps are normal, or so I'm reminding myself at the moment as I'm having occasional niggles too but nothing intense. In the first few weeks, there is a lot of stretching and readjusting of position going on down there. I've also had a fairly recent laparoscopy, and a previous c section and have a retroverted uterus which needs to tip back into position so all of those things will have an impact.

The high risk signs are heavy bright red bleeding, clots and significant pain, so if you have any of those maybe call the doctor again for advice, but if its less than that try to keep the faith.

    Hugs

    Nicki
