    Ah Nottslass and Toniq,

I've not been posting on here much lately because of reading your posts, it's so humbling! We have been TTC for 2 years but are still trying naturally at the moment and reading your posts made me kind of feel like a fraud for posting on here! I know that's not how you all feel but my troubles seem to pale into insignificance with what you ivf'ers are going through. I just couldn't read and run tonight though and had to just post to say how incredible I think you both are and I hope that things get easier for you soon a you both get a VERY deserved BFP.
All the luck in the world to you both.

Thank you for the kind words, yours and everybody else's good wishes and thoughts really do mean alot - TBH I'm choked to think that we have well wishers in the cyber world.

Actually I feel a bit ungrateful to be moaning on here,I know that I'm lucky to have the opportunity to try IVF and although my success rate is only about 10% I appreciate that there are some that don't even have that hope.

At my last appointment I meet 2 women one was 43 and her chances of a BFP were only 3 - 5 % yet she was prepared to still try.
The other lady was 37 and going it alone, she'd had numerous failed donor inseminations and was now trying IVF !!!
I can assure you that made me feel a fraud, and thats before I even start to think about fairy elephants journey !!!!

Anyway ladies,I'm now fully prepared for tomorrows events - legs are shaved, bikini line is waxed and the pedicure is looking good !!!

OH had been taking his various supplements since January - so hopefully the swimmers are ready and raring to go.

I'll post tomorrow after EC when I'll hopefully be reporting a good yield !!!

    Hi
I mentioned this on another thread but I found great support from fertilityfriends.co.uk and our birth club is now celebrating our childrens 4th birthdays :)

I love fertilityfriends.co.uk forum :D When I started IVF in May 2008, I joined a cycle buddy thread and chatted to other women and got loads of great tips on helping the treatment work. Seems mad all the things you try, Brazil Nuts everyday, Pints of full fat milk & water, Pineapple juice & hot water bottles!! But trying to stay positive was probably the best thing I could have done. I found it hard but my OH told me it would work and even named and talked to our two embies Fred & Barney. Funnily enough F&B turned out to be twin boys :T:T:T

Good luck to all you lovely ladies going through IVF or fertility treatments right now! Don't feel at all guilty about being totally selfish and putting your feet up in front of the TV. I took the entire 2 weeks off work after ET and watched DVD's and surfed the net in between sleeping ;)

    xxx

nomnomnom fertility friends is fab isn't it? to share your experiences with people who totally understand what you're going through is just what you need. I think it would be a useful insight into fertility issues for anyone.
That made me smile too notslass, I always wore nice pants and bizarrely made sure they matched my bra!!! I never had to strip off but made me feel more confident.
    Lots of luck!!

    Toniq & Notslass..

To both of you big squishy (but gentle) hugs. I stilll have my fingers crossed for you. Thanks for the honest feelings your showing, although I have to say my first feelings on reading them was oh my! followed by some aprehension. But stopping and thinking am glad your being open as there is no sense in lolling my self into a fantasy. Am still on very early stages of pill taking, and have either gotten a cold or bad hayfever which is making me feel like crap! All I wanna do is eat comfort food but after gaing a couple of pounds am now eek! about my weight so can't win :( Am away with my army cadets this weekend too so have no time to my self for a week or so, on the plus side it should keep me busy and maybe I'll burn of a few callories.

Somnium, if it's hayfever try using this :http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/wps/portal/products/hayfever/hayfeverreliever As it's drug free there are no issues when TTC.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

I have just been to the hospital with my DH as he has Multiple sclerocis for his routine annual check up & he has been selected for a drug trial of a new wonder drug.

Part of the trial is that you are not allowed to father children whilst on the drug, as we haven't completed our family & are still hoping for another baby I told the Consultant that we were still wanting to carry on trying to conceive.

When my DH was first diagnosed he was going to have a very aggressive treatment to kill off his immune system that would leave him sterile, so we banked some sperm, but have never been able to afford to use it for IVF or IUI, the Consultant has said that he is going to try to get us funding either from the NHS or the drug company to be able to have treatment.

Thankfully my DH has never needed the aggressive treatment but since we had our 5 year old son, we have never managed to conceive naturally even after Clomid, my Infertility Consultant told us that the best route for us was IVF, but as we already have one child & because of my age I'm now 43 we wouldn't get NHS funding.

I'm trying not to build my hopes up, but this is the most positive news we have had about getting treatment.
