Hi.
The GP I spoke to did ask if I was getting help with the weight loss and I was honest and told him that I am kind of. I spoke to the dietician at the surgery and she said I could see her anytime I wanted to or just call her up for a telephone consultation.
I also told him that I am loathe to do anything that is strict as when I was on weightwatchers it got me so low that my health was being questioned by my Mum and Hubby but on the good side I lost 3 stones n order to get married
What I started to do last october time was just cut down portion sizes and have healthier snacks in than I would normally eat. for example....low fat crisps...yogurts and lots of fruit. I also used the treadmill we have and used a fitness DVD. It started to work and I lost a few pounds but then my Dad had a bad car accident in november and it all went to pot as I was at the hospital everyday.
Now I just need to get back into it.
Wow,you managed to loose 3 stone !!! If you can do that once, you can get back on the wagon.
IVF is tough, both mentally and physically. It plays havoc with your hormones, entails endless hospital appointments, which in turn leaves you having to constantly reorganise work and other commitments, every stage of the process is stressful, you constantly worry about how many follicles you have, how quick they are growing, what quality are the eggs ? Then comes egg collection (theres no guarantee you'll get that far) next, theres the issue of fertilisation - How many will actually fertilise ? how many will be suitable for transfer ? Thats before you've even got to the 2ww,which entails endless symptom spotting and your emotions going haywire,as spend your time constantly thinking its worked/it hasn't worked !!!!
If you are unfortunate to get a BFN,the moving on and deciding the next step is yet another tough time.
Although IVF may appear to be "a cure all for infertility" the reality is that only about 30 % of cycles actually result in a live birth.
I'll be the first to admit, that before we started on the roller coaster of IVF,I thought that the financial side would be the most difficult hurdle to overcome.OMG how wrong was I ?The reality is that its emotionally draining and physically demanding, all with no guarantee of success.
There are many aspects of the treatment that are beyond your control, but getting a healthy BMI is one thing that you do have control over and it can make a real difference to the outcome.
If having a child is something that you desperately want, please do everything that you possibly can to give yourself the best chance.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck

Hello,
sorry to interrupt, I am not trying for a baby but I was wondering if any of you have tried reflexology when trying for a baby? I have reflexology for another medical condition and my reflexologist says she has had several success stories when working on the fertility reflexes, ie fallopian tube areas.
Its worth a go I suppose, but I would suggest you do your research when choosing a reflexologist.0 -
Hi all,
Well, OH and I returned from a lovely 2 week holiday today. We are well rested and ready to start ICSI on about 12th May.
We have had to self-fund as I couldn't reduce the FSH below 10 (it came out at 13 from the previous 24 - so some improvement, thanks to a long list of supplements and dietary omissions, but sadly not low enough!)
We have decided we will only pursue one cycle. We aren't huge gamblers, and a 10-15% estimated success rate isn't something to get too excited over
Best wishes to all on here.
Will keep you posted. Wish us luck!
Ange xThanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

:rotfl:Nevermind. I had to ask if North was straight up on a map :rotfl:
I am member of an online gaming site and lots of Americans ask where I am in relation to London. I tell them 'I am above London when looking at a map'
I am hopeless as well but when i was at school a friend taught me a saying " Never Eat Shredded Wheat"" and years on it is still the only way i know:rotfl:0 -
Toniq and Nottslass - best of luck for your egg collections this week
LiloLive on £4000 a year again for 20110 -
Good luck for you both, Toniq and Nottslass! hope all goes well.
I am still exhausted. Tried to go to gym yesterday and I couldn't even push the pedals of the bike at resistance 1!!!!! I think it is all after the antibiotics I had for my cough. I still have the cough, but I also have no energy.
I even did a pg test thinking that maybe my AF wasn't really AF... Negative, of course, but at least I stopped doubting and having the dreams that the doctor tells me I am pg, even though I had my AF just last week!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
