Sorry for being a downer, Nottslass, really hope u get some real sticky beans back in xxx

I just don't think alot of people realise how traumatic Ivf is, the other ivf's and iui's never made me feel this wretched, i supposing its down to all the injections being upped as they wanted a better response.

I have used fertility friends but because of the fact the clinics use it i don't feel comfortable having a gripe knowing my consultant could see itms, i have also used she knows forums a usa site which i found really helpful xxx

I go through alot of counselling both sides of an ivf as i realise i get very hyped up and panicky,
Just scared i've done all this again too myself for nothing and to add another £5k gone from our pockets xxxx and im very very scared of sedation, they put u totally to sleep at guy's, i really don't want them to go into my belly, i'd rather it the below way as before xxx
My oh is useless to discuss thigns with as he tells me it will all be ok etc etc etc, he wont hear no silly talk as he puts it, though he is spoiling me with flowers chocs and meals etc, wish he would stop snoring!
sorry for rambling and thanks for listening to a very very hormonal mad woman! xxxxxxxx

I was scared of sedation too but I asked my clinic if they did both and what were the pros and cons. The nurse had a preference for a general as she thought it was much easier for the patient. I decided to have a general and it was a lot better than I expected! I've had plenty of ops before to remove endo and felt cr4p afterwards but with egg collection I felt fine afterwards.

I don't think I'd want to be aware of them pulling and prodding me with my legs in stirrups to be honest!! Must be a lot worse going in through the tummy :( Hopefully your ovary will behave at the last minute Toniq.

Thanks for the support notslass that deffinatley helps knowing that.

I don't know what the procedure is for removing eggs at my clinic, with regards to being put under. I kinda assumed they did as they mentioned I'd be in recovery for a few hours, will have to clarify that but I suppose it doesnt make much difference to the situation as I'll just go with whatever the recommend.

Month today all going well I shall be going through egg removal its amazing how fast it all seems to have come about.

Anyhoo toniq & notslass am throwing many lots of sticky baby dust at you hugs xx

I've had 5 IVF cycles now, 4 EC's under General, and 1 under sedation.
The sedation one was very unpleasant I have to say, felt a little bit out of it but not enough not to feel the Local anaesthetic needle go in 'up there' and then lots of sharp pains whenever they drained a follicle (had over 20 follicles too!) Also had a water infection and severe bloating and pain after which I have never had with a general. Not trying to scare, just passing on my rather extensive knowledge of this crap.
    And still no baby.

Best wishes and luck for everyone trying x

Just an idea if you want a forum on ivf etc there is a section on the ovusoft website. com. It might help you.

Toniq ~ good luck for today, keeping everything crossed for you.
    Nottslass ~ Great news.
IVF is a huge rollercoaster, both physically and emotionally. Sending big hugs to anyone going through the process.
On another note, when I had my egg collection, only 6 follies were ready and we only harvested three goodies, my consultant who was lovely said don't worry you only need one good one to make a baby and he was right!!! My little boy is 4 in a couple of weeks and is the best thing that ever happened to us.

Thinking of all of you on your IVF journey

Nottslass, hope those embys are behaving and getting ready to come back to mummy

Toniq, hope you are hanging in there, the best of luck to you and OH

angelavdavis, good luck to you with starting your IVF journey

IVF - I have sedation, but tbh I dont remember anything about it, so I would say they knock me out - I dont feel a thing, and have minimal discomfort after. I am ready to go home after an hour.

Have a good weekend everyone, happy bding!

Not great news from me. I went for an early scan today'; should be 6+1 but measured somewhere between 4.3 and 5.3. This is what's happened the last two miscarriages - we evern get a heartbeat, usually, but it all measures too small. Really thougth theclexane might sort it out but looks like it hasn't. Am feeling numb and despairing. Have to go back next week to have another scan to see if anything has grown, but in myheart I alreayd know the answer.

    It's just so unfair.

Fertility Problems? - Eat yourself pregnant

I found this on Dr Dahlqvist's blog today
As correcting vitamin D insufficiency status and eating a low carbohydrate diet are helpful in PCOS it makes sense. More here on a high fat low carb diet for mothers.
