Oh that would be lovely :) There's always hope til AF arrives - will be keeping fingers and toes crossed for you for Friday :)

Will have to look into the CBFM, think OH is ready to really attack from all angles now after watching the Great Sperm Race!! These OV sticks are driving me mad, have just done another and no line at all, though yesterday got a very faint line. Have also (grossly) succumbed and had a look at the cervical mucus and found it quite stretchy, think this may be good news for tomorrow? Presumably if I wasn't ov'ing there would be no ewcm? Such a minefield - seem to be finding out new things every day!

gymfiend, I know lots of people really find temping and things useful and are happy to do it, but personally I can't do anything like that. The added focus just makes me so stressed, and I just don't think it's worth losing my mind over. I am aware of which week I should be ovulating, and OH and I BD every other day then definately (and whenever else we want to for fun). So give it a try by all means, but make sure you're not making things worse overall rather than better....

    Jiblets,

I would say it is worth charting or doing the OV sticks for at least a couple of months. If I hadn't I would have had no idea that i ov'd on day 22 and would have assumed it was around 14 as is more usual so I would never have caught. As I say now my cbfm showed day 14 this month again which I would have missed as was expecting it to have been cd20 or 22! I guess it depends on the type of person you are. I use the monitor to help me and don't let it stress me, I don't symptom spot and I forget about the 2ww as much as I can and try to be relaxed about the whole thing. I can certainly see though from some of the posters on the TTC thread that they are probably the sort of person who would get too wrapped up in it all. Personally that thread drives me mad with women symptom spotting from about 4dpo, which is just ludicrous!

Thanks for the thoughts Jiblets :) I struggle with not knowing things for definite because since I've been on meds for the pit tumour my cycles are changing every month, so I've actually got no idea when I ov, and trying to bd every day is exhausting!! I'm really trying not to be consumed by ttc thoughts & think knowing when I ov would really help :)

I have mixed feelings about the CBFM.
I was doing a clinical trial with it for 6 months which has recently ended.
I loved using it because I knew exactly when I was due to ov and because it was free! :D

I don't miss the feeling of being under pressure to perform though. If we didn't make love in the day or 2 following my peak I was a right mardy cow :rotfl:

Uh yes Shelly I should say I don't know what you mean but dh might disagree! I do try very hard not to be like that though, bribery is always good for those instances I find though! :rotfl:

With regards to monitoring OV, one thing my nurse in the clinic said, was stop it. It just adds stress, and you don't need any extra of that when ttc for so long. So, I stopped charting for now. I will still check my temp if I wake up at the right time, but no pressure anymore. I know I ov, as the blood tests have confirmed it and I have been following my temperature for about 18 months. In that time, only once did I manage to get a positive OV stick, althouhg I always (almost) get a clear and significant temperature jump, and some cramping/pain/discomfort at around the same time.

God, maybe I should give up on the ov sticks then!! Sounds like most people have horrible experiences :/ I was hoping to follow the SMEP but as i'm so unsure of when I ov, the only way I can is with ov sticks...

p.s. Becs - new pituitary forum has opened :) pituitarychat.com - something must've happened to the old one, hence I could never get in!

HI all. Hope you're all ok.Looking for a bit of advice... I normally ov fiarly predictably, and use the ov sticks and have no probs with them. I got my positive (two days) over the easterholiday, as expected, BDed like mad, but have had no temp rise. Is it possible to get +ve ov result but then not actually release an egg?

Just to clarify with everyone, I wasn't suggesting you should give up tracking your ovulations if you find that it works for you! Just that it turns me into a loopy lady...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
