I know exactly what you mean!
Up until quite recently I didn't know either. I always thought first day of spotting was day 1.

Hey ho, we live and learn :rotfl:

    Ha - me too!

I also realised that my 'sex education' or whatever was completely lacking when we started TTC - and after reading TCOYF...... All those years of taking BC pills and worrying about it happening 'by accident', when actually the time-window for conceiving is remarkably short!
The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"
..."Mind yer a*se on the step!"
TTC with FI - RIP my 2 MC Angels - 3rd full ICSI starts May/June 2009 - BFP!!! Please let it be 'third time lucky'..... EDD 7th March 2010.

I'm finding the 2ww really hard this month - maybe because we'll start some treatment next month if not BFP. I keep thinking I am though, but trying not to let my thoughts run away with me.

AF not due until next Monday, but I've been having some "stretching" cramps in my lower belly since last Friday (6dpo). I started feeling nauseous on Saturday and have been off and on ever since though not actually sick yet. My boobs are really sore and tender (much more than usual, such that I can't wear an underwired bra atm). Really suffering with wind and alternating diarheoa and constipation (sorry, far tmi!). Smell is enhanced. Tummy is bloated (to the extent another woman offered me a seat on the train today, and I'm only a size 10 so not generally huge!) And went to see a musical today with my kid, and when the curtain went up tears were streaming down my face (oh the shame!!!)

I did a First Response test this morning but was BFN. Having said that I am 6 days before AF is due and they only claim to be just over 50% accurate that early. Have also read reviews on the internet that say this brand isn't particularly reliable at the best of times.

Anyway, forgive the vent. I don't want to get OH's hopes up unnecessarily and haven't told anyone else IRL that we are ttc again, so this is the only place to indulge my obsession.

Keep everything crossed for me that I don't drive myself completely bonkers by Monday...

Just checking in to see how everyone is.

Hey Nicki, your symptoms sound promising but just try to relax (yeah right) until Monday. Once it gets to Friday the time will fly by (weekends always do for me!)

And how did you get on lilo, whats next?

    Rosie xx
  • Hello everyone, good to see we're all still plodding along... hopefully it sounds like a few of us might be getting somewhere - good luck lilo and Nicki and anyone I've missed who might be having hints of a BFP!

I have a docs appointment tomorrow to ask to be referred to the fertility clinic. We've given it longer than we said we would, in an attempt to be patient and 'relaxed' about things. I've never experienced emotions before like I'm going through now. I thought I was fine when AF arrived last week, until I saw DH in the evening and burst into tears on him. My best friend is now 'properly' trying for a baby, and I'm dreading her beating me to it - and hate myself for feeling that way because I know I'd really be delighted for her.

I guess we all just have to keep BDing (no complaints there)! It'll happen for us all when it's meant to and in the meantime I hope some of us get those well-earned BFPs that give the rest of us hope.
  • Hi, only just had time to update!!!! Halloween party dont you know - if I am still posting here next year, can you remind me never to do another one!!!!!!!!! That said, it was great, but really hard work and I am shattered.

Anyway - the great news is that DHs little wrigglers did the business, and we are the proud parents of our little embryo. It is 2 cell at the moment, and apparently top grade (polishes fingernails on top in a smug fashion!!!)

So.....9.10 in the morning, we will be at the clinic ready for transfer, we can take our own music and everything!!! We are so excited. The really nice thing, is that tomorrow is the anniversary of my mums death (2 years) and it feels like such a positive thing that we do the embryo transfer on that day. The halloween party was also about turning this time of year into something positive rather than a time of grief, and I know she would have been chief witch if she had been here!!!

So from tomorrow, I will be there in full symptom spot mode, but as I am using progesterone pessaries, I will have an awful lot of them, pregnant or not! So, heres to a fun 2WW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Night night all, and thanks for the support. = Lilo

Brilliant news lilo - I've been looking for a post from you for a couple of days now,I do hope that everything goes to plan tomorrow.
I'll make sure that I do my little "fertility dance" for you at 9.10 tomorrow morning, although I'll have to make sure that nobody's watching first,as it involves me, semi naked, holding a phallic object and dancing round a Clear Blue fertility monitor chanting "All I want for Christmas is a BFP"
