prams/travel systems-worse when(like me)you need to get on buses etc! but need a car seat for when hubby drives us places at weekend, so needed to get into boot easily too! we got a graco mirage travel system, but can see myself swapping to a really light and simple pushchair later on! cant see the point in spending loads, however nice some of the fancier prams are. just needs to be practical and easy to move around for me!Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0

Angel I love that pram! I've had a go of it in store and it has that nice bouncey-ness to soothe bubba, If I didn't need a double I would be going for a traditional style one like this.
I personally think you should get the best carseat you can and never mind if it doesn't fit on the pram, its not good for bubba to be in carseat for longer than an hour (or something like that) and who manages to go out and run errendes in an hour? (not me) christopher always settled fine when I took him out of the car and into lie flat pram with snuggley blanket anyway.
I found that Chris out grew his SX carseat very quickly anyway (as did my best friend's daughter also) and we had to get another newborn car seat as he wasn't ready for forward facing yet so turned out costly:rolleyes:0 -

Hi Sami_Bee,
Is it the Silver Cross one you like??? I am leaning towards that now, only becuase of the moses basket and rocking frame aspect.
When you say it has bounce? Do you mean like the traditional prams where you could rock baby to sleep. That is what I would love.
You can buy the car seat that goes with the pram and it's a ventura one. I too aren't keen on the idea of keeping bubs hunched up in a car seat for long which is why i am looking at the more traditional type prams.0 -
Hello all,
I am back from having two weeks on holidays to find a new thread of which I have just read all 37 pages to catch up with you guys!
To all the new ones and new baby arrivals - congrats!
For anyone who doesn't know, I am 11 weeks, due 18th May. I am 29, husband is 37, been married for 15 months and together for over 6 years. This is our first baby.
Holiday was great - flew to Florence, had 2 days there, travelled to Pisa, had a few days there, then flew to Sicily and had a chill time there. Was aw ay for 12 days.
In terms of travelling, we had 3 early flights so had to be up 4am ish, was ok but really knackered me out. I am not a great car passenger traveller and always use travel sickness tablets - but you can't use them whilst pregnant - one day in the car I was really bad.
In terms of food, drink - there was lots of seafood on menu so was hard at times to make choices. I had some fish and octopus but stayed away from shellfish. I also had a couple of glasses of wine throughout the 12 days away.
In general, had no morning sickness but nausea has been terrible. Think it seems to be passing now. Still have that very tender right nipple though. I have been very tired though (not just during hols). Also constipated.
Got back and cleaned house top to bottom and got through 7 washing machine full. Most of it is ironed - I hate seeing piles.
I have my dating scan tomorrow, which at 11 weeks is quick but am pleased. Hope all is fine and dandy!
Think that is all from me...Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0 -
Angel: Yes the SX linear or classic sleepover ones I like in fact if I didn't live in Chav central I would go for the vintage ones teehee
I'm glad you understood what I meant with the bounce I find in quite soothing myself to sit boucing bubba as I used to.
The ventura is the one we had originally but out grew - I do have to admit that Chris and his little lady friend were quite tall compared to some others in the first 6months when I looked at those little charts in his red book (not sure if everyone has those for bubbas)0 -

Good grief! Where did you get all that energy from girl????!!!:D
Good luck with the scan...I had my dating scan last week...it's all so exciting and real now...

13/14 weeks....depending if you believe my dates or the scans!0 -
Still doesn't feel real for me (15 weeks today!)
When did it feel 'real' for everyone?
Talking of dating scans, how accurate is thier method of dating? I've got no idea what conception was, or last period (could be anywhere in a 4 month window) so only have the scan to go off.
I'm happy today. Met a new Pyschiatrist, who gave me a different diagnosis and recommended treatment, which is much, much better. Had a long chat about pregnancy and mental health, and he definitely believes that pregnancy and motherhood can have a curative effect, and I'm a good 'candidate'. No one is worried about PND, so thats good! I was very worried about PND and Pyschosis.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Hi Icklebeans - Welcome back. Glad you had a great time. Sounds like you need another holiday though after all the work you have done since you have been back.
Sami-Bee, oh what you have said is swaying me strongly back to the Silver Cross one nowAs for the vintage ones, i would have loved one of these too, but hubby was dead against it. I should have stood my ground. At a car boot for £75 was a brown fabric vintage silver cross, reconditioned, looked brand new. MIL and I loved it but hubby wasn't having any of it
Good luck with the dating scans for those who have them coming up0
