MFD - I saw an clipping in one of those parenting magazines that says Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow use the P&T for their son. I'm sure their daughter is 5 or 6 and won't be using a pram anymore - does that sell it?
If you're not using it as a double pram, the storage space underneath for shopping etc is excellent. Plus the accessories for the P&T are fantastic - they do a cocoon for a newborn, and a sleeping bag! A SLEEPING BAG! I wish I could get a sleeping bag specifically designed for my main mode of transport but I don't think my fellow commuters on the train would be as receptive as I would
Tine - are you drinking enough? I don't know about you but I'm so stuffy just now and getting headachey from it, but if I drink lots of water it seems to help how congested I am. I'm definitely not having dinner tonight, hubby made korma and my stomach is tying itself in knots just from the smell!0 -

Managed to make (yes MAKE!!!) cheese on toast and eat it tooI think that's the first "cooking" I have done in WEEKS

Hi
Just wondered if anyone could recommend any books for a first time mum whose only 7 + 2. Something on pregnancy and birth would be great.
(ones with pics preferred so I can keep showing OH how our little bean is growing)!!

advice and tips desperately needed, especially money saving tips0 -
mookiandco, there are a billion websites that show developing babies and some even have video footage of ultrasounds etc... Much better than a book, could you not get him online?
We just spent a couple of days with the In Laws, was lovely to see them and had a good time but absolutely exhausted now... Slept on an airbed with DD next to us in a sleeping bag on a lilo lol... Was comfortable enough but kept waking up to check on DD as she was sleeping face down! Then OH decided to go to the toilet at 5am which involved nearly launching me into space while he crawled across the airbed then slithering across my legs... all 14 stone of him! and if that wasn't bad enough, DD's normal 6:30am wake up came an hour early, I told her it was 5:30 and to go back to sleep and she then spent the next 90 mins asking me what time it was, at home she knows she can get up as soon as the first number on the digital clock is 7.... We also went to dinner tonight, a restaurant called Taybarns in Wigan, it's an all you can eat affair... I definitely didn't get my moneys worth... (although did fill a paper bag I had with jellybeans from the icecream machine to take home) and was really worried about travel sickness for the rest of the journey but we managed to get home with no vomiting episodes... Just desperate for my bed now...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hello all, hope everyone is ok! Welcome to any newbies!
I'm 15 weeks tommorrow!
It seems to be going really quick, seems like only yesterday I went for my CVS!
I can feel the baby moving now, mainly in the evenings and when I go to bed, it's such a lovely feeling.
Will check back in and have a good ol read tommorrow, got physio assessment at 1.15, so hoping to get some good advice off them, me back is giving me right jip at the moment

My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »We went into mothercare and had a look at the Quinny Buzz (I have had my eye on this because it is compatible with the maxi cosi car seat)...but the seat seemed to wobble a bit which I wasn't too keen on. And the two of us couldn't take the seat off either  So now I am not sure...anyone else been looking at/got a quinny buzz and can offer any advice/reassurance?
MFD, I bought the quinny buzz a couple of months ago from littlewoods direct using a 20% off code and saved £70, obviously not being due for a bit yet i can't really comment on the day to day use but i did check for you the seat does wobble a little and I read on other forums that this is normal for the buz tho.
I really struggled with learning how to put it together etc until I found that there are demonstration videos on youtube and kiddicare which are great and made it so much easier, also one of my work collegues uses this pram for there 5 week old and they mainly use the car seat or carry cot as the seat is not really suitable until they can sit up unaided apparentlybut they say its great.
I was also wondering if anyone can advise on what to actually pack in my hospital bag, I looked online but the lists all seeem to be soooooo long, if I listen to them I will need to wheel a suitcase in with me :rotfl:0 -
DH is off with work for a few days this week - I can eat things he doesn't like for tea and watch what I like on TV (or more importantly - leave it switched off!)
So long as I don't have any problems, or need to open any jars it will all be fabulousIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I can't remember who it was who was looking for a book recommendation, but if it's definitely a book you want then I'd always recommend the Miriam Stoppard pregnancy book. It's very reassuring although when I bought my copy (in 2001!!) the photos looked quite dated. If you look for it on amazon, they'll have recommendations on that page for books other people have bought which is generally a good way to find which books are most influencialshopaholic13 wrote: »I was also wondering if anyone can advise on what to actually pack in my hospital bag, I looked online but the lists all seeem to be soooooo long, if I listen to them I will need to wheel a suitcase in with me :rotfl:
one vest, one sleepsuit, one set of mittens and a little hat for the baby
two pairs of jammies/nighties
3 pairs of thick socks (my feet got so cold when I was in labour but my socks and jammies kept getting soaked with my waters so needed changed)
a bottle of water with a sports cap
hairbrush and spare bobbles/hairbands
the biggest mirror I could fit (just in case you want to see the baby's head crowning. I was sure I didn't want to see it with my first, until I was at the crowning stage and had no mirror)
Toiletries for your shower/bath afterwards
Vaseline (if you have gas and air your lips get really dry)
Camera (first family photos!)
I had on my birth plan that I was to be allowed to eat during labour. Some hospitals actively forbid this so check with your midwives, but I had a pack of muesli-type bars and bananas for energy
For your bag for the ward, remember that your partner/friends/parents can be taking away dirty laundry and replacing it for you so take the bare essentials. By the time your visitors have been up with presents etc you're going to need an extra car to get all your stuff home anyway! I took 6 of everything for the baby because meconium makes an unholy mess, but had one set of clothes for me (going home outfit!) and relied on jammies or a nightie the rest of the time. You rarely get warned that the maternity ward is the hottest place on earth so if you're sitting around dressed you'll be unbelievably hot.0
