I think I have an addiction to scans! I've had three so far (11 week private, 12 week emergency and 13 week routine). Got one booked for 16 weeks to find out the sex, and NHS one at 20 weeks. Going to have a 4D one done at some point. Mum thinks I'm mad, she only had one scan for my Brother, and no scans for me! I still don't believe it though.

How on earth are you affording them??? They aren't cheap! Wouldn't it be better to save some of that money for when the baby arrives???

The private ones are between £50 and £70, so not too bad. Peace of mind is priceless though! I'm hoping I'll be a bit more relaxed once I can feel the baby really kicking.

i dont really think you can put a price on piece of mind when it comes to pregnancy and therefore scans etc.

if the scans are giving feelinggood the reassurance she needs, then why should it be questioned????

I know if it was possbile, i would have a scan everyweek to give me reassurance as we can't see what is going on inside our bodies and we all want to know our babies are safe and developing well.

  • Hi all, I'm reading but not much posting going on.....Poppy has a cold and DH has come down with a puke/poop bug . Looks like I have 2 babies to look after!.

Hi to all the newbies and congrats :T.

Hi to all the new-mummy-lurkers! :D Be careful, I never left this thread - simply got preg again! :rotfl:.

I'm veggie so all this food talk isn't doing it for me! :p

ninky, I'm surprised about the dr too. They normally just take your word for it and refer you to the mw. In fact this time I cut out the dr all together and asked for a mw appointment at the surgery instead. I remember being all excited 'going to see the dr' during my first preg to 'get it confirmed' thinking it would be this fantastic experience but it was the biggest letdown ever!

Kathy, glad your scan went well!

Glad all you ladies have your winter coats sorted :D. My mat coat never had a chance to be put in the loft :rotfl:.

And have a lovely time all you holiday ladies! Me? Jealous?! ;)
