hi i'm feeling a bit stressed. it's probably the hormones. 1st day of my last period was 12th september. we decided to start trying for a baby just over a week after this. period didn't arrive so did a test and was positive!! went to the doctors 4 days after period was due. as is often the case in my gp the regular doctors were away so i had a locum who said i'd have to bring in a urine sample the next day and then when i had a positive result from that i should make an apt with my regular gp. gave them the sample a week and a half ago and they still say they have no results back from the hospital! i have made an apt to see my regular gp on 7th november anyway. but am worried that i haven't had any advice in the meantime? when should i have a first scan? the locum doctor gave me a prescription for folic acid and said to be aware of any pain or bleeding as that would show an ectopic pregnancy.
am i fine just hanging out till the 7th nov to see the doctor. i'm guessing i'd be about 8 weeks pg by then.
To be honest I'm surprised they even asked for a sample and even more so that they have sent them off! It's a 2 second test they can do in the GPs there and then. Mine took my word for having 2 positive tests and that was that. Was told to munch folic acid and try to eat healthy... Also to make an appointment with the Midwife for checking in (make sure you state this!) for around the 10 week mark. I'd call them and book that now - they are often busy and you're more likely to get an appointment that fits you if you book it now as they need a longer appointment for the first one.
First scan is usually at 12 weeks second at 20 (depending on your health authority these may be the only scans you get through the NHS).DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

MFD - time is going so slowly at the moment. I want my baby! Only 178 days left
I might drag OH to McD's later, either that or its roast chicken and pickled egg again for dinner. I could murder a McFlurry right now.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

We are going to eurodisney next month and last time we went in November it was like the north pole
Hi Millies Mum,
We're off to Eurodisney this Sunday - we went the same week last year and it was bl00dy freezing!!
My normal coat from last year, fastens with just a think top underneath - so thats not much use.
MIL bought me a nice coat from Primark. Black wool swing style in a size 16  (I was a 12). But it fastens, with plenty of room for bump and more layers.
The only problem is, its those daft 3/4 sleeves! If its cold enough for a coat - its cold enough for sleeves!!!:beer:0 -
gee, where did all those posts come from. i'd been refreshing the page on and off to see if there was any movement and there was nothing, and now there are a heap.
welcome new ladies :hello:
i could sleep for england too. I have been struggling since about 1pm and it's not helped by the fact that i am the only one in the office at the moment, so no one to help keep me alert.
i have been off in search of prams and have found what i want... price guide...anywhere from £375 - £495  could cry!!!!!!0 -

You could knock me down with a feather, the MW just called me and arranged a home visit before my scan! She said it was to fill in my green book, didn't have the heart to tell her I already did after the last appointment... Hey ho, she might actually talk me through things this time...
Oh... and I compeltely abandoned my principles yesterday and had a big mac...
and it was the best thing I've eaten all week...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
