  • My thoughts are with you mirror, I'm unfortunately another member of the MC club.

Congrats skinty - i never realised the yolk was so big (well in comparison!)

elle- I think that you are ok as long as you have had chicken pox, seem to remember the same situation when I was preggers with DS1.

I've had my downs and spina bifida test results back and they must be ok as I got a letter and not a phone call but I've not a clue what it means really! The downs one is a risk of 1 in 5800, which I understand but is that a high/low/average ratio. The spina bifida one that really confuses the hell out of my pregnancy brain: it says 1.13, well what the (insert swear word here) does that mean!

Mirrorimage - so sorry to hear of your loss. Hugs to you and your partner. We've had a number of losses, so we know it takes some time to get over it both physically and emotionally. Take care.

Skint - glad to hear things went well at your scan. Thanks for posting the pics.

We aren't planning on having a scan, unless there is a problem, until the 12wk scan. I have the tilted/retroverted uterus and the only way to see anything well early on is with the transvaginal scan and I absolutely refuse to have another one of those if not completely necessary.

I have had a bit of nausea but no distinct morning sickness yet. Am actually hoping it shows soon, as it will be a bit reassuring.

Are you sure you have a tilted uterus? I was told at the emergency unit where they scanned me after my mc that I had one, but today the doctor got the pictures through the tummy and said it isn;t tilted at all!

Mind you, I don;t mind the probe anyway, I'm pretty sanguine about those kinds of things.

I don;t have any morning sickness really, feel a bit off colour but not really sick. I don;t think it matters if you don;t get it.

Careful what you wish for! ;) I was happy about it to start with... at 17 weeks I'm slightly less enthusiastic about it I have to admit...

Elle: just though I'd better say having previously suffered from chicken pox does NOT guarantee immunity therefore you still must avoid anyone with chicken pox when pregnant! its a common misconception that you can't catch it twice ;)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Elle - I was told that as I have had chicken pox myself I 'should' be fine although it is not a garuantee and I was told not to go hugging the infected person or anything. I unfortunately come into contact with it quite a lot. As well as numerous other horrible bugs and illnesses!! I just try to keep my distance from them all and have managed to avoid catching anything yet this year.

Skintchick - I've been told on no less than 5 occasions - different pregnancies - that I do - and that's with different techs, so I'm willing to take their word for it. I don't like the transvaginal one because twice I m/c'd immediately afterwards. They probably didn't cause it, but I don't care.

MrsTine - oh I know - I may regret wishing for it - but it will just make me feel more pregnant and reassure me some.

    Thanks all.

I've just been rudely dragged awake by a phonecall from my sister, telling me she's coming for tea on Saturday!

Mel, whilst lying in bed this morning, I remembered you (I think!) had been asking about work trousers. How did you get on wearing your own trousers?

The manager was off sick last week (see everyone else is catching these bugs except me :p ) She is back this week so I will see what she says tomorrow... I will just put my case forward that there is not much point causing a fuss as I only have 6wks left in work, which in reality is 12-18 actual working days.

    Thanks for asking btw.
