I am so, so sorry honey. It's devastating. huge hugs. Take care of yourself and remember that it is nothing you did or didn;t do - sometimes babies are just too good for this world and God wants them back early.

I feel a bit bad posting now after MI's sad news.

We are just back from our scan and everything is totally normal!!

Baby measured 15.2mm so she has dated me at 8 weeks today based on that. The gestational sac is large enough for it to be 9+2 but it can;t be as I'd have had to have conceived the day my mc bleeding stopped which is highly unlikely, so we are going with an 8-week baby with what she called 'a big bedroom' :rotfl:

Eight weeks fits with my personal dates so I'm happy that is right.

At first I thought I had nothing in htere and my heart just stopped, then she found a blob and the heartbeat! Just such a little blob beating away! Amazing! It is 160 beats per minute which is spot on for eight weeks she said so it all perfectly normal which is just so amazing.

She said the womb lining is all excellent and baby is bedding in as it should be. I've never been so glad to be normal!!

I didn;t look at Oh once! I was transfixed by the screen although I felt him move closer to see better.

Anyway, I ramble on!

The head is on the right - the two black holes are its brain developing apparently. The circle on the left is the yolk sac and the line is the umbilical cord developing.

Thats Amazing. I can't wait for my scan. How come you had a scan now? I thought it was meant to be at 12 weeks. I have no idea how far along I am and would love a scan ASAP.

I paid for a private one because I had a miscarriage in October and couldn;t wait to find out if it was OK this time.

How much did you have to pay privately and who did you go through? It must have been amazing to see it, it makes me want to cry thinking about it. I'm so jelous of you right now.

I used a place near Oxford called Beard Mill Clinic run by Dr Victoria Heath who is very qualified in early pregnancy and sonography and was lovely. It was £120 though :eek:

There are cheaper places but she is an Oxbridge graduate and does research and so I felt I'd be safest in her hands. She did a detailed scan and gave us lots of information which was great.
