LOL r.mac... yeah my mum had it through both of hers too... explains why she only had two I guess! Second one was to check that the first one (me) wasn't just unlucky! :rotfl:
What really upstes me is that in Denmark there are SO many more safeguards and rules about pregnant women... none of this "sickpay for x days then you're on statutory SP!" - you get full pay all through no matter how much or little you work - and a full pay year once baby arrives... the UK really has some catching up to do! On the other hand people who are on Income support don't get as much but then Denmark are VERY active in supporting people to work - if you're sick you're sick and fair do - but if you're fit to work then you get 3 job offers - no matter what your skill level so ex directors could be offered cleaning jobs... if you turn them down your support stops - no ifs no buts... but because it's part of our culture I guess it works... I think trying to introduce as harsh a system here would take decades. Although ours came into place because many years ago Denmark was in the same hole the UK look like they are teetering on the brink of now... so who knows... maybe 52% income tax is on the cards?VAT of 22% (or is it more? I forget...) and 200% tax to put your car on the road when it's new... would love to see how the public dealt with that as a suggestion from Gordon Brown :rotfl:

Just thought I would add - you will probably find that your doc isn't very interested...will just tell you to book an appointment with your Community Midwife (usually visits your surgery). In general, they don't even do a test - just take your word for it....they don't even touch you for the first 26 weeks or so - apart from for scans.
My doctor wasn't interested. He just said to leave my details for the midwife who will call me. He didn't do a test, it's a bit dissappointing as it would be nice to have someone official tell me if you know what I mean. I've done 6 tests altogether now though so I'm pretty sure.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

i found that strange too. everyone just takes your word for it that you are pregnant. the MW for me didnt do a test either. i kept thinking 'have i made this up'. it wasn't until my 12 week scan, when i saw bubs on the screen that it started to feel rather 'real'.0 -
Some seems to want to do a test - others don't... mine didn't. Took my word for it when I went in to "report it" to my GP - the receptionist was also very "so what" attitude when I nearly screamed it down the phone at her... Oddly I got take a lot more serious when I ended up phoning a couple of weeks later to say that I'd been so sick for over the weekend that I hadn't even been able to keep down water for over 48 hours... suddenly I got an appointment first thing same morning!
I just can't get over how blaze everyone is about people being pregnant... the only ones that have been nice so far has been my GP and one of the other GPs at the surgery... I know women have children every day but I don't! Surely people could be a little more excited or at least pretend to be interested and nice?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! I know. It doesn't seem real for me yet as I haven't seen a MW or anything. I have absolutely no idea how far along I am or anything so have no clue when my 1st scan will be. I'm so impatient about it all. I haven't told anyone yet and it's killing me.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

oh Jvic! I've never had so much trouble keeping something a secret in all my life!
I had to weave a web of lies to cover things up, people kept inviting me to go places around my due date so in he end I pretended we were going on holiday to get out of them!0 -
Aww mirror I'm so sorry to hear that!
Have a huge hug and go get some chocolate or whatever you fancy and cuddle up to your DH for the rest of the day

Hi MI,
So sorry to hear about the results of the scan. I know it's such a common occurance but it doesn't make it any easier. It's awful to think that after waiting months it could be over just like that. Nothing I can say would help really but I hope it all works out for you in the end. Take Care

sorry Sami with pages moving on I missed this post!
I can't remember what age your doggy is - but if she's getting on then it might be a sign... I know a friends dog had a couple of fits and when I rushed her to the vets it turned out ot be a minor stroke - with medication she was ok for another year at least - but she was a very elderly JRT... I can't for the life of me remember what breed your doggy is sorry! Blooming pregnancy brain!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
