I guess I shouldn't talk really as in Denmark it's common to have cheese on your breakfast rolls and then.... JAM! Gotta be strawberry jam and only certain cheeses suit it! But it can be very nice... mmmm feeling peckish now... Had my special K multigrain thingy with skimmed milk this morning and a carrot on the drive to work... but feel like I need something more... mmmmmmmmmm0

Close Sami - except today I drove DHs Santa Fe to work as he has to pick up his boss on the way to a BIG meeting and the Santa Fe isn't clean and mine is
But yes I was marrily munching my carrot whilst driving down the A roads
Any traffic cop brave enough to want to pull over a pregnant lady in a 4x4 for eating a carrot whilst driving was obviously the other end of town today! :rotfl:

If you are the restaurant owner/manager/chef I think you are being extremely unreasonable.
Think I allready said that I would not put this on as a main. Perhaps a starter. A good menu should include usually 2 meats (red & white), one fish, one 'traditional' veggie and one 'unusual'. Personally I would also offer an alternative under these circumstances. And most places know to keep a stock pile of burgers and chips for those ones that decide they don't want 'fancy food'.
What I was getting at is at this time of year restaurants do become extremely unreasonable as they know there will be 2 parties for each table. Even if a booking falls through it can be filled on the night.
And you find that many pregnant women simply refuse to eat what is 'safe' for them. I agree that the restaurnat is being unreasonable, but if you are pregnant you can not go into a restaurant and eat what you would eat at home. Either loosen up a bit or go home. Unless your in a 5 star place, the mayonnaise is bought in huge tubs and has never seen a raw egg, so most mayonnaise is pasturised, if the reastaurant can't tell you that (it's as simple as checking the tub) then I wouldn't advise going back, what else can't they tell you?0 -

I'm off to the dentist this morning, hopefully nothing drastic will be needed. Got my excemption all ready, and it'll be strange to not pay.
How much dental work do you get for free? Is it only certain procedures etc. I only found out I'm pregnant with my 1st last week so there's an awful lot I don't know yet, sorry.

WOW, you lot are chatterboxes! Haven't been on since friday and there were 10 pages to catch up on!!
Nothing much to report here. Morning sickness seems to have gone now as I have not felt sick for over a week. I am sure I am getting a slight bump though (it might be wishful thinking, but dh says he can see it too!)

ooh and Carla, its silly how much services differ around the country! some doctors still insist on sending a wee sample to the hosp to confirm your preg
scans are generally at 12 and 20 wks, try not to worry I know your still in a bit of shock but being young means you can cope better with lack of sleep etc
Ps. as long as my bump isn't too late, when it arrives I'll be 23 with a newborn and 2.5yr old and my best bud is currently 25 with a 2mth baby and 20mth tot, there's lots of young mums out there (that aren't chavs) Caz on here is 25 and on her 5th! and we do a pretty good job (if I do say so myself) you'll be fine0 -

All dental work that begins during your exemption is free :T obviously that doesn't included cosmetic stuff that you just fancy but I'm sure you know that
you just need to show your dentist your exemption card once you've got it - if you don't remember filling out a form for one with your MW give them a call. it takes about 2 weeks to arrive in the post0 -
Sami - and i thought i was mad
no, only joking. can't say i have to put things on one side and not the other(re peanut butter and jelly), but there is also time for me to pick up othe strange habits.
does anyone have any experience or thoughts on tesco muslins? they have a six pack in my tesco metro for £5.02 (which has the label of 'discontinued' on the shelf). just wondered if they were worth picking up?0 -
