Yay for Pickle!
Thanks for all the good wishes - scan is at 1 but we have to leave at 12 and I'm not expecting to be back before 3 (maybe later if we go for food afterwards).
I did a test this morning and the PG line came up instantly - way before the control line! I still feel very PG so I'm really hoping it will all be OK and we will have a lovely blurry blob picture to look at :rotfl:
I promise I will update when I can, with a pic.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Morning laydees
Just a quickie!
Skinty and mirror - good luck for your scans today.
LP - congrats :T
McSmiler - you can eat rind ripened cheese which had been cooked (goats cheese, camembert, brie etc) but I don't think the same goes for blue cheese - but to be honest I would probably just eat it now anyway - how much will there be in there?
AF - my assistants friend had a 4d scan and was 'upset' after it because it was so clearly a little boy (you could see his features really well) that she felt that she had ruined the surprise for herself. I remember it really clearly...thinking that she should just be grateful that she had a healthy baby but I guess if you are set on having a surprise then it is worth thinking about.

I too would have thought if its been cooked it would be ok. Could you check with the midwife or NHS direct?
But I think the restaurant is being very unreasonable too, it wouldnt be much hassle for them to zap something to go with the meal for you.0 -
I would really avoid blue cheese... I'm not convinced that cooking it totally kills off the fungus and whilst there are many things I'll "risk" blue cheese hasn't been one of them
And I CAN be partial to St Agur
And peanut butter? YUCK!So not my thing
I like peanuts but not peanut butter... never have.
If I have toast it usually has cheese on - danish cheese or swedish cheese from Ikea in lack of better
I guess I shouldn't talk really as in Denmark it's common to have cheese on your breakfast rolls and then.... JAM! Gotta be strawberry jam and only certain cheeses suit it! But it can be very nice... mmmm feeling peckish now... Had my special K multigrain thingy with skimmed milk this morning and a carrot on the drive to work... but feel like I need something more... mmmmmmmmmmDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Thanks for that MFD - I would be really upset if i ended up finding out what i was having in this way.
I guess I just really want to 'see' my baby when s/he is ready to appear, but i then I would still like the 3d/4d scan
I am scared in a way that by me saying i do not want to see their features etc before hand means i am not bonding in some way, but i dont feel that any other time, it's just when thinking of this scan.
I do have another NHS scan at 34 weeks so i get to see bubs again in that respect before s/he arrives.
Hubby will be no help becuase he wont be fussed, but if i dont have it done i will feel i have let my mum down becuase she was all for it.
LP - CONGRATULATIONS :T :T :T0 -
Hi everyone
LP glad your scan went ok. Good luck skinty and mirror with yours too.
Am I the only one who can't stop eating lately. I fell like I am living on hobbit time..I seem to have breakfast, 2nd breakfast, elevenses, lunch etc etc... I am getting a bit concerned because I have put on soooo much weight in the last week or two. I really am trying to restrict how much I put on this time round!! Half the time I am eating I am not even that hungry...

R.Mac - DH apparently got the raspberry leaf tea in our local health food shop. They do it in Holland and Barrett too.
I'm back from ordering Nursery furniture. Some will be here "within 2 days", some "within 14" and some "within 42". Some of it is coming on Thursday, but the computer wouldn't tell us what. I have a feeling the baby will be here before all the furniture, but never mind - we have the crib already, which is the most important thing!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I'm lurking, but thats because I am so early n I don't feel I have much to throw into the conversation - sorry!
Good luck to those having scans today, and LP - I can't wait to get to that stage.

Rmel - don't worry unless you get hairy hobbit feet to go with your hobbit appetite! Some days I am sure the baby is having a growth spurt. One day last week I even had to make myself another tea because the first one didn't touch the sides! Then I woke up convinced my bump was bigger than it was when I went to bed!

AF - don't feel like this...I do not want to know anything about my baby until it is here... I was the same with my other two, and I bonded instantly with them when they were born. I would give my life for them I love them so much!!
I do sort of think about babs a lot, but if people talk to me about it too much I switch off. I really prefer to wait until he/she is in my arms and then smother him with love.
