Big hugs. A test will still be positive for weeks as the hormone stays in your body I'm afraid so that won;t tell you anything BUT your morning sickness stopping doesn;t mean anything bad has happened. I haven;t got any MS but my early scan today showed a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat.

However, with my last PG I knew something was wrong, and I did lose that one, so your gut might be correct.

I think you need to call the unit and leave it ringing while you get on with stuff - put it on speaker and just let it ring and ring.

Try not to panic but i know that's easier said than done.

chopstick, its more than likely nothing but as your worried and scan date hasn't come through the only choice is to call one of the other numbers you have, round here you are assigned a team not just one MW and to be honest she prob wouldn't remember you anyway as only seen once :)
If you do a test it will be positive either way as preg hormones hang around for something like a month so it would be pointless. as I say I'm sure its all fine you may be chucking up again tomorrow it really does come and go of its own accord
    HTH xx

ETA: you could also ask MW/GP or local maternity ward if you have a tel no. for the number of you local EPU (early pregnancy unit) they are usually easier to get hold of and will talk to you and poss do tests or scans if ness
I wouldn't bother with scan unit no, you'll never get through, the MWs have a magic direct number so can call for you and get an app much quicker

Mirror, really sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you.

Skinty, glad everything is coming along nicely!

I've had a horrifically busy day, dusiest in weeks and still managed to make DH a birthday cake! Have to go to bed now... Just wanted to catch up on the 7 pages I've missed... I hurt! On the plus side, my full body cushion arrived today so I get to make myself comfy on it tonight...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Hi skintchick and sami-bee,
Thank you both for replying. Skintchick, I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but congratulations on your good news today.
I thought that would be the case about the tests. Won't bother wasting my money then!
I'll take another midwife's phone number with me to work tomorrow and I've also found the number of my local EPU (didn't even know there was such a thing), so hopefully they'll be able to help. I'll also keep trying the scanning number just on the off chance that somebody answers. The problem is that I work in a small open-plan office so have to go out to make phone calls and can't be out for very long as questions will be asked.
Thank you again for your support, I'll come back tomorrow and let you know how I get on.

well i have just had a long soak in the bath and feel so much better, slobbed about in old clothes and gutted kids room, even went out in them lol!! glad to get nice cosy pjs on and sit in front of the fire:D

Talk went really well, were 6 patients there, and all very responsive and asked some good questions. Was a bit nervous but glad I did it. Hopefully was of help to them!

I'm not looking forward to the baby getting bigger - if his kicks are this strong now, what are they going to be like later on!

Caz: in the old day babies were born on the bed upstairs with a nice cosy fire going, as I'm guessing you don't have a fire in the bedroom the lounge sounds good to me. :)
My friend had her bubba in the lounge unexpectedly and the baby was freezing as the house was just "normal" temp for that time of day and she had a fan on coz she was hot with the effort of giving birth

I'm planning on having mine in the bedroom but as I am due in July cold shouldn't be a problem I hope. Living room in front of a fire sounds very cosy and nice.

Ps. as long as my bump isn't too late, when it arrives I'll be 23 with a newborn and 2.5yr old and my best bud is currently 25 with a 2mth baby and 20mth tot, there's lots of young mums out there (that aren't chavs) Caz on here is 25 and on her 5th! and we do a pretty good job (if I do say so myself) you'll be fine :)

    wow....thats good to know! :)
ive known for 2 days now and i am just terrible at keeping secrets, i desperatey want to tell my mum, dad and sisters, but at same time i dont, id like to wait to see how far away my hospital apptment will be, so i could surprise them with showing them a scan pictre!! maybe im hoping for a bit too much!

my thoughts are with mirror, so sorry to hear your news.

congrats to skinty: i remember the first time seeing a scan of DD, its an amazing feeling.

someone mentioned muslin cloths: i swore by these with my first; great for over your shoulder for burping, round them while drinking. and DD has just turned one and i still use them with her; double up as bibs!! :) i loved them.

i wanted to say smething else....after working til 11.15pm my brain just isnt playing ball anymore though!!

hope the rest of you are all good and i will most definitely chat tomorrow!! away to get some much needed shut-eye!!

    Big post warning!
Elle: I had a few massages last time as I became allergic to my false nails so spent the money I usually did on those on a nice rub ;) I had them at the place I go for my eyebrows/tans/nails as its a mates place, she just used plain oil as lots aren't safe in preg, but once my bump got bigger I couldn't lie on my tum anymore :(

AF: I'm suposed to avoid peanuts too but frankly there's so much eczema/asthma/hayfever on both sides I decided that me not eating peanuts wouldn't make any difference - bub would end up with something anyway!
I like bramble jelly on my pb n j's but (here come the weird bit) I have to spread one piece with jelly and one with pb then squish them together after :D
And my reason for not wanting the 3d scan is the same! it feels like cheating to me, I want the 1st time I see bubs face to be in the flesh

r.mac yep cooked cheese is fine as the cooking kills the bugs

AM: maybe you can convice grandma to buy Aston a sheep outfit? they have them in tesco - soo cute
and your dog do NOT let her out without being on the lead and no where near boy doggies for 2 full weeks (an be prepared for lots of howling dogs hanging around outside for at least the next week) - I've heard of some people putting nappies on their dog when they're in season, but you should be able to have her spade for free by pdsa/rspca after xmas - unwanted puppies are not fun
Oh no the school have the actual sheep costume, just needed to provide the under clothes, found some black jeans in the end.
Yes I'm keeping her in, and I have heard that you can get them done for free especially staffies as there are millions (well not quite) of them in rehoming centres coz noone wants to buy them.
Just have top wait 3 months.
    :j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j
