chopsticks wrote: »Hi ladies,
I'm exactly 10 weeks today (if I've worked out my dates right!). At the beginning, I felt like I really was pregnant as I felt sick most of the time and was being sick quite a lot too.
However, in the past week, I've hardly felt sick at all and haven't been sick once. I'm now really worried something is wrong. I know MS can disappear but I thought it was supposed to hit a peak around now and then ease off a bit. I know everyone is different though.
At the moment, I don't feel pregnant at all and I'm so worried.
Hi chopsticks. This is my 4th baby (6th pg) With babies 1 & 2 I had no ms at all. Bbay 3 I had it from v early on all day every day until I actually gave birth. Pg 5 I had ms from 8weeks (my clue I was pg). This baby I had ms starting at about 6 weeks (well, it started as evening sickness) and then it suddenly stopped at just before 11 weeks - no calm down on it - one day I was throwing up all day, the next I just felt queasy and the day after nothing - lasted about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks with nothing. I'm 17 weeks now and occasionally am sick (maybe once every couple of days?)
It's just to say everyone and every pg is different. I posted on here after my ms went away - I didn't feel pg and was worried (was bleeding too) - but all is ok with this one.
((hugs)) for you. This pregnancy lark is hard - mentally and physically!

Also, just wondering whos breastfeeding?
Me and my oldest friend (who is due 2 weeks after me) were talking about it yesterday, I want my baby to have breast mikl but sdont want him to be permanently stuck to my boob for months, so though about starting off with the breast then switching to bottles and expressing, what do others think?
I bf all 3 of mine.
I mixed fed DD from quite early and she stopped bf at 6 months after a heavy cold (during which I expressed but she wouldn't take the breast after, so I stopped - I wouldn't now if I was in the same situation)
DS1 I bf until 11.5 months - but he had mixed feeds when I went back to work at 7 months. I'd feed morning & evening & non working days (fri-Mon) - your body adapts to the frequency you need - it's quite amazing that it will get the hang of missing day feeds when at work. I think if I went back to outside work I'd do this option again - formula at nursery, breast at home (I'd only ever be back part time at the most now)
DS2 I bf exclusively until he started solids at 6 months (- 2 days). I then still bf him as his exclusive milk until about 15-16 months, when I started to give him occ cows milk (eg with bkfast) However, I stopped bf him entirely a month ago (at the grand age of 34 months!!)
Whilst I have expressed (eg to go out) I found expressing more of a faff than feeding - however good a pump is it is not as effective at getting your milk as a baby suckling. It's quicker to do a feed rather than express an equivalent sort of amount. (having had to express and dump when on strong antibs (it was that or go into hospital!) I know how much longer a feed would take, as I had to feed a bottle and then express an equiv amount to maintain supply)
Bottle feeding is a different skill to bf, so if you are going to go down part expressed feeding or part formula route, I'd leave it until bf is well established (I'm sure krystal can give you a better idea of timescales)
Hubby can do other things - bath baby, change baby etc. Whilst he's bathing aby you can nap :-) (although my DH has never bathed no 3!)
It's certainly up to you - expressed breast milk is better than no breast milk (I'm not trying to lay a guilt trip on anyone - I know lots don't get on with it)
I hope I haven't offended anyone - I'm not trying to preach bf. I'm just saying my experience and opinion - honest

I can't see parts of bubba - just feel them at the moment!
I have been meaning to say for ages - you know when you get your babycentre email the pic of the baby is always facing in IYSWIM - now in that position then it would be pretty hard for bubba to kick me like he does...do you think that means that bubba is back to back? Or is it too early for him to be fixed in any position? I am 28+1
Can you see the pic?
Got a MW appointment tomorrow morning so I guess I could just ask her!
Also - whilst we are on the subject of BF - I am intending to try to BF (but trying not to pin all my hopes on it and put pressure on myself). Is it better to wait until after bubba is born and see how I go before I buy a breast pump & bottles? Or should I buy and hope that it all works out? If I buy and don't open I am assuming that mothercare (or boots or wherever) will take it back? Are there any places that are better than others at taking things back to?

Online shopping has been my hobby for some time nowchristmas shopping without all the hassle of people - heaven
I haven't been to Liverpool for ages - I went to Uni there and lived there for 8 years before I moved to Stoke, then Wolverhampton (I was VERY bad in a previous life!!).
Actually, hubby and I were looking at having a night away on Saturday (DSS is going to a party with his mum) so maybe Liverpool would be an option for us - would love to see that they have done to the place...anyone know if there is anything good on at the Tate at the moment?
