Two random questions..
I keep waking up with a bloody nose (just in the mornings, not after my evening naps). Like I'm having mini nosebleeds whilst asleep. Is that a pregnancy thing or just random? My BP is usually low but was normal on Weds so obviously a bit higher than normal for me.
And, why do you have to take Pregnacare on a full stomach? I've been struggling to remember to take it after tea but I've not been worried as I've had little FA tabs to take with my other meds at nighttime so I've taken those instead to make sure I still get the right dose of FA but they ran out last night so now I've got to definitely remember to take the Pregnacare after tea!0 -
HI elle,
I get (sorry TMI here) little plugs of blood when I blow my nose. Apparently it is all to do with the tissues in your body softening up. Worth adding it to your list to speak to the MW about if it gets worse.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
nosebleeds must be one of those pregnancy things only get it when i have the cold?
you probably have to take Pregnacare on a full stomach to help it be absorbed but they tablets are huge eh! took them last time around but not this time as i never knew until later on but was eating a vaired diet so wasnt too worried? What's for you won't go past you0 -

Morning mirror - I think this is one of the most discussed concerns on here
I think several of the ladies have had a little bit of blood and from what I have heard (I haven't had this myself so going on what I have read and heard on here!) is that a little bit of "old" blood is not a problem and is in fact reasonable normal... If it continues or starts turning bright red then you need to contact your GP/MW/early pregnancy care department at hospital just to be on the safe side. Most have been fine, especially so long as you don't have any pains associated with the bleeds. But if in doubt do call your MW
it's what they are there for

Well today when DH gets up the plan is to clear out what will be the nursery and whack whatever we can on fleabay and Ebid... And I guess part of my job will be to sort out all the paper work that has been building up recently too as I can't see DH sorting it
Bless him!
And WHY am I drawn to watching documentaries about women giving birth at the moment??? GAAAH! All it does is make me more convinced anyway that I want drugs... LOTS OF DRUGS! when I give birth... these women having natural births... not a chance I'm afraid! Sorry to all who wants one - it ain't happening for meDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Mirror, I started bleeding at about 11 weeks, old blood... I called my Drs and they arranged a scan for me and everything was fine... About 10 days later it happened again and it was new blood that turned to old blood so we went and spent 3hrs in casualty and got referred for another scan (had to wait 3 days) everything was fine again but they said the placenta was covering the os and that was probably what caused it.. They also told me it could happen again but if I was worried I could now self reffer for a scan... Oh and no nookie... Bled for about another 2 weeks and haven't had anything for ages now so think it's all moved... And we made up for lost nookie time at the weekend...
I would try not to worry about it (easier said than done) and call your Drs tomorrow, see what they say... I found midwives can fob you off a bit tbh.... The Drs took me a lot more seriously.A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Why haven't I watched any documentaries on giving birth yet? I watched them all the time with DD (and before actually, shhh lol) But haven't actually come across any this time...
I don't like the American ones, there's far too much medical intervention in those ones for me...
It's supposed to be my lie in day today (OH always gets Sunday because he doesn't come to church) But he got up, got her breakfast then got back in to bed (which is fine I do this myself when she gets up before 7) but he fobbed her off everytime she came in the room after that, meaning she woke me up... then I had to listen to them argue about why he should or shouldn't get up... I gave up in the end and got up... He's still in bed and DD's sodded off to play in her room... I have a splitting headache, there's no milk to have breakfast and I feel really sick... I can see me being in one of those not very nice moods today....A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
