    Hi all.
Baby Warren is fine, no probs there. :j
But OMG what a crap experience!
The people that scanned his heart were great, lthough it did take ages coz he wouldnt stop moving!
But then I went to have the normal scan and it was a load of flucking pants!
As soon as I got in there I said to the man, ''can I have some pics please'' as they say you have to ask before they scan.
All throughout the scan I had to ask him what he was looking at, aparet from the obvious things, he just seemed to take no interest in involving me in it all. :(
Plus I could hardly see anything as they sit facing away from you on your right side.
I only got one pic, which was of my boys head and when I said ''was that it'' the bloke went, ''wel you should of asked'' I did !!!!ing ask!
Then he said oh i'll give you a few more and printed out 2 of the same pic.
I know I sound really ungrateful, but I wanted a full body pic.
Plus I'm still poorly, bunged up and was frozen from the train journey, Mum didnt come in the end, she didnt sound keen so I told her not to bother.

I left the hospital and sobbed all the way back to the station, then on the train (what a bloody big cry baby)

I feel so deflated, but I'm so glad that Warren is ok, I knew he would be anyway, he's a fighter like his Mum.

Hope you are all ok anyway, sorry for the rant.:o

Heres a pic, excuse the trampy chipped nail varnish :o

AM - I am so sorry for your crappy dealings with your sonographer.

However, YAY YAY warren is OKAY!!!!!!!!!

Shame your mum didn't go with you, but if you picked up the vibe that she wasn't really keen, best she didn't go, especially after that sonographer.

Good news that Warren is healthy AM :j but what a twunty sonographer:mad: . I would say something to your midwife (assuming she's a reasonable human being - I am beginning to realise how lucky I have been with the midwives I've seen).

Ohh AM, hes got a proper face!! They look so much like 'babies' now, instead of aliens. Glad he is okay, shame the scan went badly. Something in the water I think, all these mean consultants, sonographers and midwives.

AM - i was extremely fortunate as my sonographer at 20 weeks was brilliant and the reason i say this is that she seemed shocked when i kept thanking her (she talked us through everything and was great with me when I was so nervous).

Just a shame in your case you couldn't tell the sonographer just how pants he was and what you thought of him truthfully.
  • Oh AM - it makes me so cross when the sonographers are mean - there is one at our hospital who is reknowned for being a cow and telling people that the scan is about the baby, not the parents

Luckily I had a bloke who was lovely, he turned the screen away to start with so he could do his bit (he told me that he was going to do that) and then he showed us what he could see.

Do these people not understand that the scans are very, very important to us hormonal ladies?

Anyway - the only thing that matters is that Warren is well :T thank god for that.

  • oh AM, how rubbish :( Is it worth complaining to the hospital? I shouldn't imagine they'd give you another scan or anything, but it's probably worth passing on your feedback so he doesn't do the same with anyone else!

I didn't like my 20 week one, as there were loads of students in there, so she was too busy talking to the students to talk to me, so I was made to feel like an essential, but inconvenient, part of the process.... but at least because she was talking to them, I knew what she was looking for/at!

It didn't help that I was having a bad couple of weeks then, and had convinced myself the day before that I didn't want to go, as I didn't want to be pregnant... (I kept saying it out loud... then because it wasn't really true I ended up feeling guilty because I thought the baby could hear me!)

After saying I would keep up with you lot today, I've only just got back online and caught up again! Thanks to the power of MIL, living room is now completely re-arranged, and looks much bigger and tidier for it. Now (well, Sunday - I need a day off tomorrow now!) we can start on the spare room.
