Another quick question my mum was rushed into hospital last night as she couldn't breath. She's been sick and had bad tummy all night and all day today, they've got her now on a morphine (sp?) drip as she's in so much pain. She's in a barrier room and I did go last night when she was rushed in but she told the nurse to make me go home as I was pregnant.
Do you think it will be ok for me to go and she her or am I best keeping away? Any advice would be fab as I really want to go and see her.
Until they know what the problem is and that its not contagious you're probably best to keep away, as hard as that will be. You should be able to phone her in the meantime and it will stop her worrying too...26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

OK I'm now traumatised (tine feel free to have no sympathy for me) I've just thrown up food
I usually only throw up on an empty stomach, so its just watery stuff usually. plus I was in the bathroom coz i'd gone for a tinkle so I had to do in into the loo which freaks me out coz I'm a germaphobe I usually throw up in a bucket (yes I know I'm weird) I feel like crying

Awwww Sami... have a big ole hug! It's horrible isn't it? and yet you'll feel a little better now probably... Eat something bland to give yourself a "base" - something like toast or frankly whatever you feel like...
I find I want fruit when I have thrown up or milk - either or...

As has been said definitely stay away until they are sure it's not contagious! Your mum did the right thing in asking them to get you out I'm afraid... if you catch something serious whilst pregnant then treating you would be even trickier than treating your mum... and some bugs could affect your pregnancy. Get her phone number on the ward (patient line thing) and call her lots until she's declared no risk to youDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Sami as for germs... You wouldn't believe how clean my loo's are at the moment... they sparkle! Because they get scrubbed daily and again if I've been sick in them... Yes I'm odd tooDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I am selfishly hoping that Jamie is going to be a Janurary baby
Ah, thanks, MFDbut he is DEFINATELY going to be born this month!
. We are given the option of inducement at term +10 so thats the 27th at the very latest! :T. But I really want him here sooner rather than later so I can recouperate before Christmas
.
I can't remember if it has been mentioned here before but most of our local pharmacies offer 'Care at the Chemist' schemes where you can get lotions and potions for various illnessess without seeing the Doc. If you pay for 'scrips then you pay in the normal way and if they are free (like for us!) you don't. DH, Poppy and I are registered at our local SuperDrug and I used to get Sudacrem and still do get (the generic form of) Calpol free and without the hassle of going to the surgery .
Might be something worth looking into?

***hugs*** Sami
Do you feel any better?

SB: they won't give us stuff like that on script here
When I asked for emolient for Chris as i was smothering him in e45 they said his skin looked fine (well it would when I'd been putting cream on it) so if I wanted cream on script I'd have to let his skin go dry first!
ooh my mum is on the way to get chris peace at last!
ETA just seen ur other post: feel ok in terms of my tum but I was kind of expecting it as been retching all day with all this rubbish phlegm0
