I haven;t started on names yet - I've only just persuaded OH into a home birth. Gotta do it one thing at a time!

I asked OH about home birth the other day. I assumed he was totally against it, but he said that if my Mum agreed, he didn't have a problem with it. I'm going to ask today, see if my weight rules me out. I thought seeing as I'm going to try and go without any pain relief, why bother going to hospital?

  • And one of the first things I do once deciding on baby's name is create an email address for them! :D. Poppy sends pictures of herself to relatives around the globe and Jamie will too :).

    Elle,

I am a big believer in Angels and would name my baby that (if it was a girl or somethign along 'angel' lines but i can't find any suitable).

    How about Angelica?

Same here. I was worrieda bout mess but the home birth thread has persuaded me and my MW is keen. I also think I might do the Lotus birth thing with the placenta and I'd need to be at home to do that (although I may just leave it a long time before cutting the cord, I'm not sure yet).

    morning - or rather afternoon!

I am sooooo tired, yet sleep is a totally elusive thing. I just can't get comfortable in bed and poor hubbie is beside himself! I finally got to sleep in the spare room about 3.30am this morning, but conversely slept through the alarm and missed my antenatal class :( Oh wellll.......

have a MW appoitment on Friday am, so I'm sure she'll fill me in then. I feel very guilty, but know that even if I had woken up and made it then I wouldn't have been able to digest any information/participate.

just want a hug and to go back to sleep.....

The problem with marrying a man who's Mother suffered Munchaussens(sp) by proxy is that he thinks you need medical intervention for just about everything... I'm quite glad he wasn't with me when I mentioned labouring at home to the consultant registrar... If he's heard the 20minute rant that ended with the words 'you have a matter of moments before your baby would die' then I think he would of had me admitted there and then for the duration.... He's assuming I'll be heading into hospital at the first twinge... I keep telling him that if I choose to go to hospital then it will be when I'm pushing and not before!

I'm the same as you FG, I'm hoping for no pain relief so whats the point in taking up a bed?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I've been reading up on SPD, and supposedly a lot of women find it actually helps - you sort of get used to the pain, and labour isn't such a big deal!

Anyone know what they do at the Consultant appointment? No idea why I've got one, I'm 'high risk' because of my weight and mental health problems.
