I see the MW tomorrow so will ask when I'm there. It's crusty and painful if I try to scratch it off - which I did when I thought it was sleep! It's not inflammation, it's like white crusty stuff. I guess it's stress?

MW will just tell you to see the doc - she is not qualified to do anything other than baby related stuff (am I the only one who had this 'talk' off the midwife?)

Could be blepharitis? Google it for some images and see if similar. DH & DS2 have had it - inflammation of eyelid (I think) leading to lots of stuff which resembles sleep but hurts to pick off and comes along even when awake. Think they had antib cream to get rid. Whatever, it's definitely a doc issue to diagnose & prescribe if necess

Skinty it may be something else hun, my little boy suffers from impetigo. Sounds a little like what you are describing, it normally appears around eyes and nose! Make sure you keep it clean and wash hands etc. Sorry bit obvious that comment wasnt it? its just it can easily spread like wildfire! If you notice it spreading you need to see the doc, I use tea tree oil on a cotton bud when my little one has been using the cream for some time! But I guess you wouldnt be able to if it was too near you eye! Take care :A

My mum is coming through to visit today and we are going christmas shopping. It should be fun :D But it has meant that I had to an SB and be up, clean, dressed and tidy early this morning and on that note I had better finish the hoovering as she's due in 1/2 hour

Ahh, and today is the day I get to lounge like a lizard! :D Appointment isn't until 2:50pm this afternoon so Poppy and I are still PJ'd :o and no housework ;).

Hope you have a fab shopping spree!

God what is wrong with the country!?!? (don't try to answer that ;))
Loads of accidents people snowed in blah blah why do people turn into complete numptys when ever we get a bit of snow! traffic is still moving slowly past our house and all the snow on the road has melted now!

    sorry lovelies rant over!

MFD My midwife didn't give me the I'm not a doctor lecture although I like my doctor so I don't mind bothering her with all my probs. if its my eczema I usually got to baby clinic and ask the HV if I need to see doc tho coz they are really good with their eczema knowledge :T

They don't have these in our hospital - you are expected to take a pack in yourself - they don't even put one on when babe is born - they ask your birthing partner to get the nappy & clothes from your bag.
Have never seen any freebie nappies. They give you a pad for you when you deliver - but then not after that. They also don't have anything for washing baby (not that I use anything for months - babies skin doesn't tend to need it - I still had the freebies frmo Bounty when my youngest was a year old!) They do, however, seem to give out formula bottles to mums who don't breastfeed - although I did read recently that they are looking at charging for this in the future.

Gosh, thats a bit harsh isn't it! I can imagine DH scrabbling in my huge bag for a tiny nappy whilst dazed and tired and amazed about being a Daddy :D whilst Poppy wees everywhere :rotfl:. Obviously Pampers have the monopoly of the freebies in my hospital but still only one given at birth .

I used the tiny Johnsons Top to Toe sample from the Bounty bag for ages as Poppy had 'matter' in her hair for a little while after the birth.

First of all - great - thanks for pointing out the burger - I'd never noticed it before and now it's sitting there looking all good - I can't decide if it makes me hungry or turns my stomach - it goes back and forth. :rotfl: I'm getting this weird thing where I'm really hungry, but as soon as I've eaten, my stomach starts churning and I feel nauseated.

When I had DD (okay, admittedly 22 years ago), they had a bassinet that had a little cabinet under it - they kept it fully stocked with nappies, wipes, and pads. And the morning before you left, they filled it - and then said you could take the contents home with you so you had stuff to "start out with" which was great. With DS (2 years ago) - nothing. Not even a free nappie - we had to have DH get the nappies we brought in and clothing we brought in. Sad. We were on our way home within 12 hours of delivery though, so I guess not a big deal. Felt bad for those that had to stay longer and have their hubbies bring in more supplies for them.

Sami - hope your DH feels better soon and that you don't get it. I don't like taking stuff when pregnant either. I'm stuck on antibiotics right now as my diverticulitis kicked in a bit, but it's amoxicillin, so the baby will be fine, but I'll probably end up with more discomfort from the amoxicillin, lucky me. :rotfl:
