MFD I'll quote the NHS here:
    Healthcare

If you are pregnant, or you have had a baby in the last 12 months, you are entitled to free NHS prescriptions. You are also entitled to free NHS dental treatment providing that you start a course of treatment while pregnant, or during the 12 months after giving birth.
To claim your free prescriptions and dental treatment you will need a valid maternity exemption certificate, or card, issued by the Prescription Pricing Authority. To apply for your maternity exemption card, ask your doctor, midwife, or health visitor for Form FW8. Your doctor, midwife, or health visitor will sign the form to confirm your statement. taken from here
AF don't be silly they still get paid for your work! get in there your teeth tend to suffer during preg, all that throwing up/not brushing/sweet cravings!

PS my top tip for when minty stuff makes you throw up is dentyl PH mouth wash in clove flavor, its alcohol free too (something I hate about stuff like listerene is that its soo alcoholic it burns my tongue!)

I just got back from my 12 week scan. It was the most wonderful experience. OH and I were just mesmorised by the tv screen that was hanging from the wall at the bottom of the bed. Got a lovely photo, the woman said the facial features are really defined. Baby waved and stretched its legs and then turned over. Had a celebratory mcdonalds afterwards! 20 wk scan booked for 3rd Feb.

Feel like my life has been on hold until I saw baby today. Now I can put christmas tree up and start christmas shopping. Seeing that little heart beating today meant everything to me.

Thanks Fritha, that's reassuring. I just struggle thinking that i will get to the 'end' so to speak. it's with everything in life, not just my pregnancy. it's like, never thought i woudl finish high school/go to uni/get my first job/get married etc.
    yes, i'm a nutter i know :D , but that's me:eek:

You're me! Essentially you have no say in the matter: baby will grow, baby will be born, baby will be cared for! You just sort of have to be along for the ride and well, accept your new place in life! As long as someone has purchased nappies et al and put them in the house it'll all be fine, you don't actually really need to accept the whole baby thing at all imo!
Oooh - Fritha - I have been waiting for you to pop your head in!!

I was wondering whether Celia is still as territorial (is that the right word) as she was before she was born. She used to hate things on top of her (if I remember rightly!) - is she still like this now?

    How are you both doing?

    MFD xx

*waves* hello mfd, I do still read everyday while I feed her ladyship! I do like keeping up with you all :-) (Even though I really don't miss pregnancy!)

In a word, yes! She is still very territorial, she laughs in the face of swaddling! Unless she's extremely asleep you can keep her arms under a blanket for love nor money! The poor kid would freeze if we didn't have baby sleeping bags! We're both well though, she had her six week (I know, too many babies got born so they're behind!) check this morning and prounced perfect! I'm a bit knackered, she had a growth spurt over the weekend so fed for 11.5 hours straight on Sunday! She does now have some lovely long legs! But yes, we're both doing fine. How are you? How many weeks are you now? (I lose track very quickly!)
Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!
  • mooki... I'm SO pleased for you!

Caz & AF... cheers ears! :D

We have a private scan on Saturday. We're VERY excited if a little scared.

*shuts eyes tight and crosses fingers*
'please don't be an empty screen, please don't be an empty screen'

I'm extremely, extremely tired... and a tad emotional but I don't have any other real symptoms, so a decent scan on Saturday should make me feel much much better!

    :o
