You deffo missed a trick, I used only the free nappies and maternity pads  and lots of cotton balls until I got most fed up of them! and I even had bubba bathed for me:T the MWs wanted to do a demo and I got offered first, snatched their hand off I was so scared of bathing him at first!

I've just realised that I'll be having bubs in june when (occasionally) its hot and the climate in the mat ward is not to disimilar to the centre of the earth! I'm thinking getting home ASAP will be most important to me this time!

Oh, I forgot about the bath! They did come and check on me afterall! :o. They wheeled it in and DH and I were shown what to do....and then my Mum walked in and burst into tears as it was the first time she had seen her grandaughter :o. She had been calling the ward all morning and they eventually gave in and let her see us out of visiting hours :D.

    xx

foof??? FOOF???? never ever heard that one before! Love it tho!

Talking about summer (hahahahaha) then DH and I were talking about this... our house gets really hot in summer and with bean in our bedroom even with windows wide open it'll be way hotter than it should be in there... So we're thinking that maybe we should invest in a portable air conditioning unit for our bedroom...
I know that 10 years ago that wasn't a possibility and 40 years ago even a fan in the room wasn't really an option and yet the human race has not gone extinct... So... are we over reacting?
How does everyone else cope? :)

OMG just shown on the local news that a nursery in Altrincham (cheshire) is the best in the country. to have any chance of getting your bubs in there you need to put them on the waiting list before your 12 wks preg!!

in a word yes ;) I mean how do babies survive in hot countries?
We had our bedroom door open with a fan on the landing pointing in on the 1 or 2 nights it was hot, an air con unit is a no no as they make it too cold and are very noisy! MIL has one that I got to have while preg and staying over (we still lived with our mummy and daddys until a month before chris arrived) it always woke me up and made me feel freezing so gave up with it!

in the summer chris was fine sleeping sometimes in just a nappy with a light cotton sheet :D

Oddly that's what I thought! It's just everything we read and see when looking at baby stuff has baby room thermometers with "TOO HOT" on anything over something like 19c? I appreciate you shouldn't outright boil the child but surely they can cope with temperatures over that?? Like you say - not like the temperature in Sahara, various jungles or say Mexico, ever drop below 25 and their babies seem to cope somehow :)

why is it odd things that make us the most worried? :)
