:rotfl:Just shows what a mixed bunch we are! :D DH is fiercely against any type of private education as he was a boarder from aged 6 to 18.

ETA: just noticed you said 'boys', Mrs T! What happens to any girls?!

    Boys only school... :(
Although if I have my way all our kids will go to MY old school ;) The European School :D Such a good grounding in several languages which I think is important - I did 4 languages whilst there but to really benefit you should really start earlier than last year before GCSCs through to A-level equivalent lol!
I think DH wants boys to go to his school because that was where he was the happiest in his entire childhood... :) Wasn't always a happy time for him bless...

elle, I wouldn't worry too much about the date the last scan gave you, it's very inaccurate to date an embryo, apparently 12 weeks is the optimum time with a 10 day window either side we were told (which is why at our 2nd scan, baby was measuring bigger than the first scan, ouch!)

And Tine, I absolutely loved my job when I worked, it was really high stress with monthly targets... I used to strive on the end of month figures... Was out the house 7am until 7pm and couldn't imagine anything else...

Now I live for a little body climbing into bed at 6am because it "needs a cuddle" big blue eyes looking at me and telling me I'm the best Mummy in the world... And the newest thing... DD started reception in September, tonight she sat next to me and read her stage 1 reading book cover to cover all on her own... I am absolutely blown away! I wouldn't change my life for a minute.
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

:( Just found out my OH's grandad died today.. dropped down whilst out shopping. He was 84.. good innings, but still a surprise!

Thanks KT. I'm just impatient really.. seen it once and want to see how big it's got (rather than "if it's still there".. I'm thinking positive this time!) :)

Career-wise, I've never really made my mind up what I want to do. Hence why now seemed a good time to have a baby. Even if I just have the one (depends how much the first tests my pain threshold and patience! ;)), I'll only be 30 when (s)he goes to school so still plenty of time to get my teeth into a career if that's what I decide I want. Would like to stay at home for the first 9-12 months (money dependent) but I think I'll go back part-time to the same job I do now (good hourly rate!). Plus I have the added bonus of my mum having "retired" the week she hit her 50th birthday! She was doing a maternity cover contract and when it ended she didn't ever look for anything else and that was nearly two years ago, so she's looking forward to playing Granny as an excuse not to have to look for anything ever again!

this talk of work and SAHMs is what i am finding difficult at the moment. had a unexpected meeting with my boss today re my maternity leave and cover etc.

i would love to have at least one year off (even more) but financially it's difficult isn't it. you get used to an amount of money coming in and then it drops..

I don't know how we did it but we did . And it really didn't take that long before we didn't miss my salary at all - and then the realisation kicked in of what exactly did we spend our money on?! :rotfl:.

I now have the time to shop around and get the best deals where I wouldn't have bothered before. New cars no longer interest us and neither do expensive meals out every week or fine wines :o. We have just adapted and evolved! :D. Everything now is 'oh, look at that on HotDeals for Poppy' or 'look at the Quidco cashback on this'! :rotfl:. Also, both sets of grandparents and my two sisters buy alot for Poppy (and for new baby) which I am extremely grateful for :A.

    xx

I wonder how I'll cope being a SAHM. I've not worked for a while because of the depression and stuff, and its going to be a big leap from being a housewife to being a Mummy. Hopefully breastfeeding will keep hormones at this wonderful level, can't believe how well I've been lately.

Sorry to hear that elle - even if expected it's a shock... My ex's dad died a few months ago - he had leukemea so wasn't totally unexpected but none of us expected him to go so quickly in the end even the doctors...
Concentrate on the good times... :)

You mean there is hope for me? WAHOOO!! :D
In honesty once we pay off the debts then we'll be at a point where I'd want to earn less because if i didn't we'd spend it on stupid stuff and potentially get in trouble again :) I know we should save it all when that day comes... but I can't honestly say we would... :o

Ref saving. We each put 32 per cent of our wages straight into our savings account on a standing order so we don;t miss it. When I had a job it meant we could save £1200 a month and that's paying for our new bathroom :D

I think if it disappears automatically from your bank account you don;t feel so tempted to spend it.
