angelfairy wrote: »Hi Skinty,
Sorry to hear you didn't get the job. The Church Cafe one sounds good, but like you say may involve lifting. Perhaps there may be another member of staff there to assist?
They might be able to. THe last person didn;t drive so someone had to take her to Costco, whereas I can drive but I'd need someone to load and unload the shopping. I think if they want me for the job they will help, it's just they don;t yet know I am PG so when I talk to them on Thursday I will tell them and see what they think.
If they want me to put chairs out as well I probably can;t do it. BUT it is managing the cafe so maybe someone else does that?
I dunno, I've only been a member for 12 years :rotfl::cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Lucky you Skinty
I just can't face the drop from £2100pcm to £117 a week... that's a drop of over £1630 a month... NOT gonna happen unless DH lands this job he's going for... then MAYBE we could afford for me to stay at home - the only way I could afford to stay at home is if I got made redundant! I have income protection plans etc that will cover everything lol
Well I can hope...
Well, we will lose £1500 a month from my wages but OH earns 36k plus bonuses and I don;t have a mortgage, just pay my dad £215 a month for some money he lent me, so living is cheap for us thankfully.
We are blessed.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

LOL OH earns more than that but the mortgage is a killer and then there are the car finance, the cards (in both mine and DHs case from previous relationships DOH) - it's debt but it's managable debt and we're over paying so it's not the end of the world - I just wish we qualified for more government support during maternity leave but alas not... hohum - we'll manage
I can see us through the 50% period, but after that I might need to do some selfemployed work if I want to stay at home longer... thankfully I have backup plans so it should be ok, but would be nice if I could stay home for the full year some how

Oh, that was HIM?! Honestly, I had thought I'd never heard of the chap until I saw him a few weeks ago on tv.

Thankfully, yes! :T Although I don't really trust this particular MW. I've only seen her once before and she rushes through so quickly (and leaves her coat on :rolleyes:). No listening to baby's HB either....
Have a consultant appointment tomorrow though so hopefully all these homevisits will be reviewed and I'll be freeeee!My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Whoever said about buying nappies - the newborn ones freak me out - they are TOO SMALL!!!

This will really freak you out....on the Boots Thread they were saying they are the exact size for Baby Annabel dolls!!! :eek:

We don't have a large income coming in, but I'm a SAHM. We went over the finances, and most of my income would be going to childcare so we didn't feel it was our best option. But I've had some health problems as well, and this way I'm not fighting that and work. It does make money quite short sometimes, but hey that's life, right?MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

MrsTine - I should have said we also have no debts at all, which puts us in a strong position. I wasn;t showing off about OH's wages either so not sure why you lol'ed? Just mentioned it cos it is a decent wage and with no real mortgage it puts us in a strong position financially.
Anyway, I'm jobhunting online and there is NOTHING! You're right Triggles
And if it came to it then we'd find a way of affording for me to be a stay at home mum too... Main reason for not being one is that we want to be debt free as soon as possible and me working is how we'll acchieve that. We could sell one of the cars (not gonna happen but in theory we could!) if I was a SAHM, we could cut a lot of things back I guess (although we're already pretty cut back - been an MSE too long!) but the main thing is that we'd not be able to overpay the debts... and that would really upset me
I have a plan! And I wanna stick to it :rotfl: Once we're debt free... being a SAHM won't be a problem at all!

wish i had known about the nappy glitch as i could have done with that:D
Sorry, Caz. It was literally a now you see it now you don't offer. I was having a mooch through the Boots thread and saw it - ordered - and then a few mins later the code wasn't working
. Really surprised they turned up, especially as I only ordered on Friday night and they have yet to charge my card!

LOL'ed because I thought it was funny that OH earns more - the amount is irrelevant - but thansk to our foolish mistakes in the past we still can't afford for me to be a SAHM - just struck me as funny that mistakes I made with my ex about 8-9 years ago is STILL messing things up
*sigh* wasn't laughing at you - or for that matter anyone elses income - we may have a high income but we have plenty of debt and outgoins to go with it so I'm sure it all evens out! I'd love to be able to afford to have a less stressful job... I hate the stress we are both under, DH may have a stomach ulcer and he's only 33 and we'd both love to have less stressful jobs... but it's like a spiral... the more you earn the more you spend and the more you then have to earn on top! Because of the type of jobs we have we have to have cars of a cetain age and "stature" and wear suits, be expected to lay out £1000 for taking clients out (ok we can claim that back on expenses but it's a huge pressure to have to have that kind of credit available all the time!) - on paper it might look like a great life but I'd swap it for living on a small holding like Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall in a heartbeat!
