just sat in bed watching i'm a celebrity and having a teary one (well that started in the bath).
i know i have my moments where i struggle to admit i'm having a baby and joke about still not accepting it, but to be honest, since my MW appointment today it has really hit me that i am going to have a baby and it scares the absolute life out of me. i just feel so stupid
Oh, AF xxx
Having a baby scared the life out of me pre-Poppy which is why DH and I put it off for so long. We were a 'loved up couple', lots of weekends away, lovely holidays and a baby just didn't fit in. BUT I can assure you that you will be a fantastic Mummy to Baby AF and you will not be able to imagine life without him/her after a little while.
I really do appreciate that it is daunting though, as you are responsible for this tiny miracle and the pressure is HUGE, especially with hormones flying all over the place.
But keep talking about your fears, either to DH or us, and we will help you any way we can.

Hello Ladies!!
Sorry to go away without telling you...things just went mad before I left then I have been running a conference for the last few days.
If I hear 'Oh MFD you are blooming, when are you due?' followed by '*random expletive* MFD - that is going to be one BIG BABY' when I say I have 3 months left to go I swear I will cry. Well, actually I did have a cry when I got into bed last night - probably more to do with having worked a 16 hour day than actually being upset...I work in construction so I spent 2 days with over 80 blokes and I know that they are all a bunch of idiots really!!
Only 1 person touched my bump and to be honest I am quite close to him anyway and it wasn't in a gropey kind of way, more of a fingertip brush IYSWIM. I did sidestep a few and I kept remembering what hubby had told me - 'slap, don't punch darling - a slap will make a better sound and you will walk away as a lady...a punch and you will probably hurt somebody!!' :rotfl:
Anyway - I am back and I am shattered. Not helped by trying to catch up with you ladies
Toto - lily is beeeyyyooootttiiiifffuuuullll!!!
AM - hope you're okay hun.
SB - how much wee was there??? Glad you are well.
AF - glad bubs is growing well - I haven't got a clue what ketones are - will have to read up!
Love to all

ooo - you all added more whilst I was typing!
AF - you are going to be a great, great mummy to bubs. You will give birth somehow and get through it and then you can give that lucky, lucky baby all the wonderful love and attention that it deserves (and still have lots to spare for us!!)
Remember - there are women giving birth in treesyou have absolutely everything on your side. :A

:hello:Hi MFD! Good to have you back!
(I didn't check! Now you have me thinking!. It was half the massive container they gave me. Anyways, results came back today and all is well. Apparently this test, combined with my blood results, can tell if my kidneys are working properly.....or something like that!

oh ladies thanks so much for all your support. made me cry again, but in a good way.
i can talk to OH. he just left for work bless him and he kept asking what was wrong. i said, nothing, dont worry but he kept asking. i just said i was scared and that today's appt made it seem more real. he said it is really and we will have a baby before long and gave me a kiss and instead of a cuddle, put his head on mine, but a bit hard and made my teeth knock together, so at least got a smile out of me before he left.
i'm sure i'll get there in the end but i am a control freak and i have a strange thing about not thinking i will get to the end of anything. so in a way i am pregnant, i know i am, i am enjoying the shopping for bubs and even some of the body changes, but actually thinking that i will get to the end of the pregnancy and have a baby just unbelievable.
MFD - ketones are where your body has used up all the carbohydrates in your body and starts eating into the protein (high ketone readings are what people doing the atkins diet aim for - but obviously not good in pregnancy)

SB this was my fave bit
when you start, empty your bladder and discard all the urine. Then put all the urine you produce over the next 24 hours into the sample bottle
Why didn't they just say empty your bladder before starting :rotfl: its as if you use a potty or something0 -
Hi SB - I had an ex who had a kidney disease and he used to have to spend 24 hours peeing in a big container every month....so yes - it is a test used to check for kidney problems (not sure how it relates to blood pressure - baby brain is on full alert tonight!)
I popped into Mamas and Papas in stoke on my way home this afternoon and it has been turned into a factory outlet - I got 3 lovely tops (1 of them silk ) and a pack of 7 sets of baby socks for £50 in totoal (the socks are usually £15 on their own  ) definitely worth popping into the factory shops if there is one near you - the wallpaper was all down to £1 a roll :T and there were tons of prams etc on sale (not sure why...maybe last season?)
AF - I couldn't remember the name of the one that you were after but if you let me know I can have a look - I will definitely be going againplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
And the BIG question is......
Did you remember to use your free £5 giftcard?!?
