SB this was my fave bit
when you start, empty your bladder and discard all the urine. Then put all the urine you produce over the next 24 hours into the sample bottle
Why didn't they just say empty your bladder before starting :rotfl: its as if you use a potty or something
Aren't you supposed to do the first wee in the bottle - to rinse it out with (or something!!) and then throw it away? That's what the renal consultants tell you to do.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Both the consultant and MW mentioned kidneys which stayed in my mind but its obviously also to do with pre-eclampsia too . There is just too much information for my little brain to take in at these appointments! :rotfl:.

Did you remember to use your free £5 giftcard?!?

Never use a discount for a fancy shop on your first visit - you will have no reason to go back again

I popped into Mamas and Papas in stoke on my way home this afternoon and it has been turned into a factory outlet - I got 3 lovely tops (1 of them silk ) and a pack of 7 sets of baby socks for £50 in totoal (the socks are usually £15 on their own  ) definitely worth popping into the factory shops if there is one near you - the wallpaper was all down to £1 a roll :T and there were tons of prams etc on sale (not sure why...maybe last season?)
AF - I couldn't remember the name of the one that you were after but if you let me know I can have a look - I will definitely be going again
i was looking at the 8 in 1 ultima.. think i have gone off it a bit now becuase of how big it is.

I was given the huge container and 15 of what can only be described as midi disposable jugs made out of what looks like grey egg box cardboard.
And I don't find it at all fair that I'm the only one on this thread that has had to do this not once but twice! :rotfl:

Best of all I bought a jointed teddy in a beautiful box which was reduced from £40 to £10 - it was my special gift to bubba because I have neglected him a bit over the last few days.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120

I know the jugs you mean, my hospital bed buddy had had a c/s and she had them and little paper rulers to measure her urine output after her catheter - as I'm sure you can guess I was nothing but sympathetic to her situation and didn't take the mickey once :A0 -

Yes!Welcome back to the thread! :rotfl:
As all booking-ins are carried out at the antenatal clinic in my area, one of my friends told me that they give you a sterile pack with a plastic funnel that fits in the bottle for you to wee in. Her top tip was to wash the funnel after use, wrap it in a paper towel and bring it home!. Best advice I have been given so far! :rotfl:. Its still doing well after being sterilised to within an inch of its life
.
PS: now I'm thinking about how everyone else manages to do it? :rotfl:.
