AF, the glucose test is to check for gestational diabetes. I had it at 28w due to my BMIand I had it last time with Poppy. Not everyone has it, only those at higher risk. I had bloods taken, had to drink the sweetest sickliest drink ever, wait around for 2 hours and then had more bloods taken . They then test your blood before and after to see how your body has dealt with the sugar. I passed both times! :T

Thanks SB :T You are the master(even of cheese yuk yuk yuk)
I think I might have to have it then if it is done in relation to BMI. I will check when I see the MW at 25 weeks.
Hope the MWs manage to get the bloods from me at 28 weeks otherwise i end up at the hospital. Oh, but reading what you have said about the 2 hour wait etc, is it done at the hopsital anyway?0 -
MFD: It was me with the palpatations, havent had any since those days last week so it was maybe just one of those things.
Icklebeans: Im sure we all get overwhelmed by the responsibilty of it all, deep breaths and remember the odds, how lucky you must be to get pregnant in the first place and then to be having twins - go play the lottery quick!!

I have a quick question for all you knowledgable ladies.
If you know in advance that you are probably going to have a C-section birth, how far into the pregnancy is it booked? I have heard that some women seem to know months in advance the date of their Caesarean (Yes, i did google it for the correct spelling:D) . I am only 7 weeks and won't be seeing a midwife until december, so it's really early days for me to be thinking of these things yet I know!:o

Afternoon all, Well I was going to start posting on the TTC board as we've been trying for ages with no success and I have PCOS also. Anyway been feeling a bit funny the last couple of days and thought it was because I'd stopped taking all my tablets, as they're not advised during pregnancy thought I should do a test last night just to be on the safe side. Lucky I did as it turns out I'M PREGNANT. :T Like Skintchic it's very early days but I'm also really panicked as I was also made redundant recently and lucky I managed to start a new job last week but I also won't qualify for SMP. I know I'm not supposed to tell anyone until 12 weeks but it's our first and I'm so excited. I'm just hoping everything will go well for the next 7 weeks!!!!You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0

Hi ladies
I'm 22 weeks now, and need to buy my third maternity bra - boobs are HUGE, and I can only seem to find the "Emma Jane" style in local stores. It really doesn't suit me - TMI alert - boobs get pushed together then a certain amount of (painful) chaffing occurs. I've never been small chested, but the size they are now is just staggering! So, where do you bigger chested ladies go to get fitted with bras that, errm, keep you separated? I do want to go somewhere to be fitted rather than order over the internet. I've heard a few people talk about Bravissimo, but there isn't one anywhere near me, I've been to Blooming Marvellous, Mothercare and JoJo-Maman Bebe, but I don't know of any other maternity specialists nearby.
TIA!

It's the sound of yet another grown man crying because wifey has the most wonderful bazoomers and he's not allowed near them
bathbabe - do you have any small local bra shops (there is usually one tucked away somewhere in every town) or a co-op/local department store or debenhams? what kind of size are we talking?

Hi guys, I'm still here... Baby is hanging in there! Don't know who was more nervous, us or the sonographer this morning but she got a heartbeat straight away and then our very eloquent baby gave us two fingers... They think we have a very low lying placenta although the baby is still in a bit of a yolk sac so it's difficult to tell at the minute and we won't know for sure until the 22 week growth scan. Oh and advised us that the best plan of action is a nookie ban for at least a month... Poor DH is a bit devastated... It's not like we've been rampant anyway with all the morning till bedtime sickness but at least there was a miniscule chance he'd get lucky... Not anymore lol.
Oh and I had a horrible consultant appointment this afternoon, can't be bothered to go into it at the minute but the woman made me angry!!! And I came away with appointments for scans at 22 and 28 weeks and a GTT at 28 weeks.. Joyous...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
