  • MFD - I knew there was something I forgot! I've got consultant appointment in Dec, so I will definitely remember to mention it then.

    Hiya ladies,

Just a quickie. Been to see midwife this morning for 24 week check. Measuring fine and heartbeat strong which is good.

Ask MW about my extra consultant appointment (I have one on 1st December that 'normal' people don't have) and apparently it is because I was having heart fluttering at the beginning of my pregnancy and they want to keep an eye on me.

    - whoever it was that was having palpitations - have you got them checked out yet??

Next MW appointment for 28 weeks where she wants some more of my red stuff (I think they are trying to clone me!)

Hope everyone is well - slscarborough and greent hope your appointments went well. (and AM - were you going today too?)
Good luck for your scan sami!

lwcus - glad everything turned out in the end and that you are both doing well.

Glad it all went well MFD

Did you MW mention anything about a glucose load test at 28 weeks? A friend of mine asked me when i was having one done and i had no idea what she was on about :D

I have a complete fear that this is going to be a twin pregnancy too...Dont know why. Just a quick note about a conversation yesterday re early scans. I had a midwife appointment yesterday and asked for one as I had a pregnancy two years ago and when i went for the scan the sac was empty. No bleeding, still sore boobs etc. She said they policy was not till 3 miscairages but if i was to tell her id had a small bleed or a pain, then she would arrange one....now she said im not telling you to lie but how would i know if you'd had one.

Just thought it might be useful for a few on here too if that is the policy where they are....havent done it yet tho...feel a bit bad x

It is the same here - if you say you are bleeding you get a scan. I am going to pay for a private one though I think. It's about £80.

AF, the glucose test is to check for gestational diabetes. I had it at 28w due to my BMI :o and I had it last time with Poppy. Not everyone has it, only those at higher risk. I had bloods taken, had to drink the sweetest sickliest drink ever, wait around for 2 hours and then had more bloods taken . They then test your blood before and after to see how your body has dealt with the sugar. I passed both times! :T

  • AF - I think that the 28 week bloods are for anaemia and diabetes.

  • Afternoon all! Has krystaltips been on recently, wasn't it today she was going to the EPU for a scan? Hope all goes well. Same for greent.

I'm going to take DD out for a walk in a bit, fresh air n bit of sunshine might do me good - I'm ashamed to say I've been cleaning windows and even my front door, I swear I'm going to be locked up by DH for my own good soon. Either that or they'll need to surgically remove a duster from my hand when I'm in labour (and I normally HATE dusting!).

    Hugs to all x

  • MFD: It was me with the palpatations, havent had any since those days last week so it was maybe just one of those things.

Icklebeans: Im sure we all get overwhelmed by the responsibilty of it all, deep breaths and remember the odds, how lucky you must be to get pregnant in the first place and then to be having twins - go play the lottery quick!!

Advice pls: Ive got a dentist appt on monday, do i just tell them Im pg or will they need to see proof????
