I'm watching the commander too, although I'm quite confident that wouldn't happen at my hosp as your locked in and they so busy it takes at least 10mins for someone to come n let you out! The hosp on tv looks like one from the 70's to me!

oh I wish they did that at ours, would make me feel better, when I had chris you had to have meals in the dining room and leave bubs in cot at side of your bed on the ward, although my friend has just had another and said you can now take your meal to your bed. hoping I'll be out the same day with this one tho so hopefully won't matter anywho x

At mine meals are served at your bed thankfully - from what i saw they encouraged women to take their infants EVERYWHERE with them... the showers and toilets are built especially to have space for the hospital cots with the babies in with you safely if say dad isn't there to watch the little one whilst you go for a shower.

    Debt-free and Proud!
GAaaaaaaahhhh!!! I just found out that as I was made redundant last week (before I knew I was PG) i won;t be entitled to statutory maternity pay because you have to have worked for your employer for 26 weeks by the 15th week before the week the baby is due!

So is there any point in me trying to get another job?

Baby is due in July, I have no intention of working after I give birth and frankly what is the point of working now, getting stressed in a new position, when I won;t get any money?

Does anyone know anything about this kind of thing? OH earns good money (around 35k) and we own our house so we won;t be entitled to a thing!

I'm so cross! I've worked all my life and now my employer makes me redundant in that lovely window of opportunity between miscarriage and PG and the government seems to think I am worth nothing!

    What should I do??!!!
