Hiya feely - how you doing today?
I keep wanting to buy things but I can't actually make any purchases at the moment - I have a few bits of clothes and that is it! Everytime I try and buy online or in person I kind of freeze and run away at the last minute :o

I am satidfying my shopping urge with Christmas shopping :D nearly all done already :T

I've started Xmas shopping! Although I can't buy for a lot of relatives - my two SIL's are having a budget Christmas and have asked me not to buy for them. They've got kiddies though, so they are getting a few things.

As soon as my stomach is back to normal, I'm going to get practising Xmas Truffles! Used to make them with my Mum, they are a mixture of cake and chocolate, with icing on, and marzipan decorations so they look like bitesize Christmas Puddings!

I'm still pretty sick and tired, and pelvic pain is just getting worse and worse. Midwife tomorrow, so hopefully she'll help!

gosh there is so much to think about and remember isn't there. cot bumpers no cot bumpers, what you can and can't eat, which way to lay baby to sleep, not to let them get to hot.

god for a worrier like me, this pregnancy and motherhood lark is going to be the end of me.

gone march you will find me rocking in a corner somewhere
  • you going to offer out the truffles like someone (was it millies mum :o 'scuse my baby brain) offered out the cardies??? ;):D

I have been brewing blueberry liqueur since about April as little xmas pressies for friends who I don't buy for (IYSWIM) - none for me this year!! I like to do homemade cranberry sauce for everyone too (I don't normally eat it but this year I have a sweet tooth!!)

I read a few things about babies getting their head underneath bumpers (the first link I found on google was to MSE!! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1186039 ) how does this happen when the rules are 'feet to foot'?

Feet to foot is one of the only things I can remember :o

    Hiya girlies, how is eveyone?
I'm ok, had a banging headache all day so have been trying to relax, DS starts full time at school in 2 weeks so that will give me a bigger break in the day, I know that sounds horrible but I just fee so groggy at the moment, my back pain is not easing up and I've had pain radiating down both legs today, when will it end? :rotfl:

speak of homemade christmas pressies, we have these chocolate balls things at home that you make with crushed up biscuits (like rich tea); cocoa powder and condensed milk. you then roll them in more cocoa power and coconut.

never made them myself but my cousins wife did and they were always lovely.

I can sympathise! I always thought I'd have a smooth pregnancy, which I have, in between the morning sickness, the SPD, the constant headaches and the anemia! Was it like this with Aston?

We should definitely have a Pregnancy Thread meet in London sometime :)

'A cot bumper should be removed altogether once a baby is sitting, as it may be used as a lever to climb out.' just had to do this and lower the cot as DS2 was climbing out when i went to get him this afternoon after his nap! the feet to foot thing does work but as babies get bigger they kick and wriggle and slowly mke their way up the cot. the best invention i have is the sleeping bags for night time as i dont have to worry about baby being cold/kicking covers off or wriggling under them.

do you think its the weather and lack of summer that makes us feel worse than we actually are? oh truffles and homebakes mmmmmmmmmm might have to go make some cookies and cheer myself up! would love the recipe for the mini christmas puds!! xx
What's for you won't go past you

    Hi all,

Got registered with the midwife. Lovely woman, but only over here for the day (usually works in Manchester). She did get a phonecall from the usual midwife and then confirmed it's the same one as last time.

Went through all the can and cannot eats and drilled into me that I must get my 5-a-day - I should (will have to!) be able to manage it but it's just remembering to have them all. Will have to go shopping later as I bet the only veg in the house is a long-forgotten bag of carrot sticks in the freezer!

Appointment booked for 3rd Dec but apparently they should be in touch sooner than that with a scan date etc. I think I'm going to give it a couple of weeks then if I've not heard anything, phone to see if they know the scan date and if it's close to 12wks, I think I might book a private 8-9wk scan just to put my mind at rest.
