Hi Girls,
Had my 12w scan on monday and all was fine! Just the one baby there which wouldnt keep still! Arms and legs all over the show and it kept bouncing up and down. We got 2 great piccies, one of them is of baby's face and it really clear! The sonographer put me forward 3 days (which is impossible as i know when I ovulated due to charting) but only put my due date back by one day which confused me! So he says my due date is the 24th May!
So releived now, we went and bought a couple of baby things yesterday which was also my birthday so it was a lovely thing to do to celebrate! Also we went and told DH's parents (My mum alredy knew) and they are all getting really excited and we have had some very generous offers to buy prams and things yaaay!0 -

I went for a job interview for a big promotion a few months ago for a government dept. Never heard anything back so I assumed I'd been unsuccessful. They just called me and asked me to start training on Monday. Now, I don't know what to do! Should I tell them straight away that I'm pregnant? I'm 10w6d today.
They should know the rules, but if you have somebody in charge that doesn't you may create a tense situation you have to work through if they try and pull the plug at the last moment. You are not obliged to tell them yet, so start the training and spend a couple of weeks establishing yourself in the new role so there is definitely no turning back before you announce the good news!
There are laws to prevent descrimination, but people ususally find other excuses eg funding cuts or anther person more suitably qualified rather than admitting the real reason. There was a thread only 2 days ago on the tax and jobs board from a pregnant woman who had been offered a promotion in a goverment department to start in January, then after she said she was pregnant her manager wanted to delay the promotion till she came back from maternity leave.
I would suggest all women be very careful as to when they twll their employer, in a lot of instances all promotions will be off the cards. I am waitnig till after bonus and pay review before I make the announcement. It shouldn't be this way but sadly it too often still is.
PS. congratulations on the promotion!0 -
OMG just lost a rant twice!!! grrrr
I can recommend Zorbit muslins I got mine free when I worked there so not sure what they cost now but I left there 5yrs ago and they are still going including ones my mum uses for cleaning windows.
AF: I refuse to believe there isn't a pram shop near you where do you live? I'll make it my mission to find you one! xx0 -
All went well with the midwife yesterday, our first scan is booked for the 9th December and then back to see the midwife on the 19th.
Might sound odd, but the whole thing still doesn't feel real!?! :eek:0 -

Doesn't sound odd at all - I had an 'OMFG I'M HAVING A BABY' moment just this morning and I've got a cross between beckham and amir khan inside me!!
Any ideas as to when it all sinks in ladies?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
dont think it sinks in until you have them in your arms and even then you think oh my god is it mine! once the tiredness sets in then you realise that they are yours and it all go from then on lol! i think it really hit me this morning thinking the worse and how the hell am i gonna manage with 4 kids and a baby.
well i have calmed down a bit my head still pounding but no more tears, am exhausted lol! really need to get something done the now as this place is upside down again!
prams are a total personal choice, but you really need to get a go and play about with them as if ound out with the twin prams, the one i wanted was the worst one i could have bought! What's for you won't go past you0 -
