Jam and Jelly Cot Bumper - warning.

I hope I have put this in the right place - I couldnt really decide.
This morning I recieved a letter from Home Shop Direct. A few months ago I ordered a Cot bumper and Duvet set for my son from Argos Additions, from their 'Jam and Jelly' range. (It comes in Blue or Pink and has a Giraffe on it).
The letter states that the ties on the bumper are over the 25cm safety mark, and maybe dangerous. You need to send it back so that they can alter them.
If you have bought it I would give them a call - better to be safe than sorry.

two points here
one you should be very careful about having cot bumpers with very small babies, even if it looks pretty.
secondly a resolve could be to cut the ties so they are shorter?Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
Hiya x
FSID do not reccomend the use of cot bumpers

I can't find the exact link at the mo but they have a help line number you can ring for more info.

The advice regarding cot bumpers being unsafe was recalled I believe as it was found the study was inconclusive.
As long as the ties are out of the cot and the baby can't reach them they are generally stated to be fine now.
However the original study was based on a theory that the cot bumpers reduced the airflow in the cot around the area the baby sleeps. I think with the theory out there you can do your own research and make your own decision
But the OP was talking about a product recall, rather than the safety of cot bumpers in general.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
sorry x Just wanted to share the FSIDs info.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0

A bit irrelevent perhaps, but my dd1 used to pull the cot bumper over her face. It was tied on correctly, but she used to wriggle her head up into the corner of her cot then pull the cot bumper over her face. Not sure how she did it but it was very dangerous, i dont like cot bumpers at all!0
