hi all,
didnt most much during the day today, the dreaded 'w' word just kept getting in the way.
bubs has been fluttering around loads today. i am sure it wont be too long before i feel some kicking.
congrats to all those that had scans today. i was so amazed at my 12 week scan i must admit i cried a bit.
still looking at what baby clothes i want to buy. only simple baby grows etc at this stage.
oh, and i am going to attempt to knit my bubs a blanket. my nan is doing me a shawl which will be a prized possession, but i thought it would be nice for me to do something for bubs myself. i am a complete novice knitter, scarfs only for me, so this is going to be a major learning curve for me.0 -
I think that is a lovely idea angelfairy - its been many years since I have knitted anything and I am not sure I remember how. MIL knited DS2 a blanket however she never finished it in time and ended up being huge!!0

Angelfairy you might find picking up crochet is easier than knitting...
I certainly find it easier than knitting although I learnt crochet many years after I learnt knitting!
There are loads of video tutorials online too if you do some google searchesDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I made up packs of info with the leaflets from BERR - http://www.berr-ec.com/CGIBIN/priamlnk.cgi?MP=CATSER^GINT65&CNO=1&CAT='224' - plus copies of our own forms to apply for paternity leave (210 blokes, 25 women!). Easier to have them all parcelled up together than having to find each one every time!
Me and OH work at the same place (where we met two and a half years ago) so I suppose I really ought to pick up a pack for us too!0 -

just have to find myself a nice easy, yet cute pattern.
i will also need to buy needles as i ebayed all of mine a while back0 -
Glad the scan went well Mrs T!
Got home tonight to find a present pushed through the door with a note saying it was from next doors cat Mash (we have Beans, they have Mash, if we get a dog it will be called Chips - Chips and Beans). We opened it and there was a pack of 7 newborn vests! We had told our neighbours last night and they were so chuffed for us that they bought us this presy - our first set of baby things! I thought that was lovely and will certainly come in useful when the twins (getting used to the phrase now!) arrive in May.Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0 -

oh that is really sweet of them. my parents were the first to buy us things for the baby. i was soooo pleased. although now i have being buying things, i dont want to stop.
mrstine - i did start crocheting, but now cant remember how to do it. might look into that again. if i remember it grows quicker than knitting0 -
It does indeed grow quicker than knitting and I found it easier on my wrists too - which is my main reason for doing it rather than knitting - I get inflamed wrists too easily if I have to hold anything heavy on the needles
Crochet gets round that because you don't carry the full weight of the item on the needlesDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Going with Mrs Army for our first midwife appointment today.
As this is our first, we both feel we're running a little bit blind at the moment and just get the feeling we're lurching from one stage to the next! We're both bubbling with excitement, but are still planning to wait until the 12 timeframe/scan before it seems right to let the whole world know
