Just found out this week that I'm expecting. Took a year to decide to go ahead as I was so nervous but my OH of 6 years always wanted 2, but it was hard enough last time, this will be baby no.6 for me. Each time it got harder to carry and I've never been good at slowing down. Will be giving up working as soon as I'm able. Really scared about the next few months, took advice and told it would be fine if I took things easy. Just sinking in!

6!!! wow you're braver than me!!! I've told hubby if this pregnancy doesn't get easier then we're only having one! If it gets bearable soonish then I'll agree to 2 and no more! :)

Have you tried anything other than the cyclizine? Perhaps something else wouldn't have such a sedating effect?

Nothing they will prescribe me whilst pregnant :(

Really? I was prescribed something else before the Cyclizine, that I was told was as 'safe' as the cyclizine, so there is other stuff. Have you spoken to your MW about it, they might know more than a GP.

I think obviously letting them know tomorrow - I don't think they do anything different between now and 12ish weeks. At 39 I suspect they'll recomment you have the nuchal fold scan though...
Hopefully an older mum will be along shortly :) Have to say at 28 I felt old in the local hospital scan department! I am sure I was at least 10 years older than ALL the other pregnant girls there!

Not speaking to MW unless I have no choice...
Spoke to 2 of my school mates - one is a doctor the other a pharmacist... they said I'd be better on cyclizine if I felt I could control the nausea enough with it for now.

They have a medical name for everything, including older mums, I'm a gross something or other after 5 pregnancies. You will be offered every test going which I personally will be taking. You may also be booked in for a chat to a consultant, don't worry if this happens, I will have to as there is no way I'm giving birth in a hospital and they were concerned last time.
    BTW I'm 37.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Shame that it knocks you out. It didn't have any sedating effect on me, and I really could have done with it, I'm not sleeping well because of the pelvic pain and the sickness. That said, I've done a couple of days without any tabs, so thats good! Hope it gets better for you soon :)

    Hi all..

Just curious, when did you get your positive tests in relation to when AF was due?

I got my first on the day I was due. Now two days late but tested on Fri and got a neg so don't quite know where I am.

Sorry to sound daft but what would a nuchal fold scan be looking for?
Just not sure what they would be looking for in ' older mums '

I do have two children already but they are 16 and 14!! Just wasnt sure if i would have to notify them an earlier given my age to carry out any additional tests or whether they are not carried out till later on anyway.

    Many thanks x
