SB I love your new avatar - what a wee cutie poppy isMy_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »SB - I am loving your new avvy!
Aww, thanks ladies! DD was 'Pumpkin Poppy' for, oh, about 10 minutes before she howled for the costume to be removed pronto! :rotfl:
greent, I hope you have called for advice and everything is well x
And fingers and toes crossed for you, elle!
Welcome and congrats to all the newbies! :j
I was 34 when I booked in for this preg and wasn't treated any differently even though I'm 35 now. It will be flagged if your PCT offers different care for over 35's when you book in so try not to worry. My PCT didn't offer me the nuchal fold scan but did offer the blood test (which I declined) so it really appears to be a postcode lottery!
Oh, and today is the 10th anniversary of when DH and I met!!!:j:D. We have been married for 6 years but always celebrate this date too. We only decided to try for children after we had been married for 4 years  hence motherhood commencing in my 30's .

There is no such thing as a false positive
But there ARE false negatives. What test did you use out of interest as the earlier you test the more likely you are to get a positive with something like a First Plus or Clear Blue
Oh, several cheapies plus a CB Digital on Wed night and Fri afternoon..0 -

Boots own and one of the supermarkets (Tesco or Sainsburys) are more sensitive than the clearblue so don't go wasting your cash - more expensive is not best in the case of pregnancy tests.
Glad that you are back in the ttc saddle elle, will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Some people don't get a positive test for weeks
Make sure you are using your first wee of the day - any test later in the day if the first one was negative is likely to be neg too.
Good luck sweetie!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Superdrug test was extremely sensitive, and cheap. Used it at 3 in the afternoon.Too many children, too little time!!!0

I thought you couldn't use them in pregnancy as well, hired mine from our local Lloyds chemist last time.
I spoke to my mid wife and she said i could start using it from 36 weeks.
There are 2 types one is for back pain etc (£19.99 offer in lloyds atm) and the other is for labour and pregnancy etc just wasn't sure on make model.
In other countries they use them from something like 20 weeksI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

Best time of day to test is first wee in the morning. You will have a higher concentration of the hormones that set the tests off at that time of day which early on in pregnancy can make all the difference
I'd do another first thing tomorrow morning if you have one hanging around still or tuesday morning if you need to buy one tomorrowDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

elle - good luck with the testing. nice to see you posting. all the baby dust i can muster being thrown your way.
my lower back is still aching and at the front feeling quite heavy and low down. bubs has got him/her self is a not to pleasent postion for me at the moment. still feeling him/her move around but no more strong pushes like the one i had that evening. though i think bubs knows when i'm upset because s/he moves around a bit then.0 -

Hi AF - showed hubby that dress and he said -if that's what you really want to spend all that money on...he has a point but I am really a bit stuck!
Bubba is low too - I think we feel it more at the weekend because we are doing different things. Bubba is starting to jump around and push at me everytime I eat - not sure if it is because it gets noisy in there when I am eating or if he is complaining that he hasn't got much room anymoreplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
