lol in HR!
Similar for me actually, I work in the Women and Childrens dept at my local hospital!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
I'm 12 weeks too and I'm still waiting for Health & safety to call me to arrange an assessment session. Bear in mind ordinarily my job involves driving for 3 1/2 hours twice a week and sometimes travelling on the tube carrying a heavy laptop bag. Not to mention my usually 45-60 minute commute to the office... Where my desk definitely doesn't meet H&S standards to good posture or proper support from the chair (they got shot of all our really good chairs, really comfy and ergonomical - and replaced them with typist chairs with no arm, no adjustable lumbar support and backs that stop below the shoulders... - why? Because they didn't match!!!).
Must chase them...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
I actually finished work on Friday, hadn't had an H&S assessment and kept sliding off my chair because it was knackered and there wasn't a replacement available. I am so glad to be out of there!
Congrats to all the newly positives! Good to see you here
I am feeling great today and I don't know if it's because the nausea etc has passed or what. Heading into the second trimester really does have it's benefits. I'm still horribly constipated though but I can cope with that if I don't feel like death all day.
Are many/any of you having a nap during the day? I've been making a point of putting my toddlers down at 12 and going for a nap while they're asleep but DS is 31 months and I don't know how much longer he's going to agree to sleep during the day!0 -

elle_gee --- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
i am sooooooooooooo pleased for you :j0 -
awww elle_gee, big congrats on the BFP! I'm so happy for you (sitting here a bit dewy eyed at your news as it reminds me what it was like getting that news after my m/c, blasted hormones!). I'm sending all the baby glue in the world your way!
On the subject of tests, the Boots tests were half price as a member of their health club via the Advantage card when I tested earlier in the year, only about £3 for a twin pack, in true MSE spirit!
Congrats also to all the other newbies, perhaps the colder weatherhas led to all these other BFPs, there has been loads lately, its so exciting!
Well I'm 37 + 3 today and wish bubs would make an appearance soon, this "nesting" isn't all its cracked up to be - SIL took DD out on Sat am and instead of making the most of my peace, I blitzed the fridge, everything in site got taken out and cleaned EEKKK! Oh well, I wonder what cleaning urge will take me today?!
PS Also huge well done to all the new mummies, we seem to have had a fair few of newborns recently too! Labour vibes to those (few!) above me in the list xxProud mum to Matthew born 23/11/08 7lb 13ozand Rosie 12/01/05 7lb 9oz0 -
Elle - I am SO pleased for you :T :T take care and look forward to hearing how you are getting along!
I haven't had a H&S risk assessment either - to be honest unless you need something changing or you are uncomfortable then I wouldn't press for it. Often they are just people following a set of rules who have no grounding in reality. When my assistant had one the bloke told her that she had to wear completely flat shoes because that was safest and she wouldn't be insured in ANY heel...despite the fact that all the guidance says a small heel is perfectly safe and is more comfortable if you are used to heels he just blankly refused to listen  . I am not looking forward to having to go through the motions with him - I don't react well to people who have no common sense!
pinkpig - I have had perma-nipple for the last 23 weeks! I was only laughing about them last night saying that I look like madonna but without the need for a special bra :rotfl:
Floxxie  - don't let our secret out
candygirl - I still get lots of mild period-type pains but if it is more than that I would def advise dd to get it checked out - get her to give the midwife a call if it continues.
If she is 20 weeks do you get to find out what flavour grandchild you will be having soon???please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Not sure when to tell work, only 6 weeks but I work in a school. Don't think I can hide it very long as I will show very quickly!Too many children, too little time!!!0

Oh Wow elle, congratulations, here's hoping things go smoothly for you this time.
I'm at the midwife on Wednesday for my 22wk app. I can't wait really as i've built up a list of things I want to talk through.
