    Congrats reetyre!

I'll be interested to hear what the latest BFPs have to say re the AD tests.

congratulations reetyre!! There have been a few bfp this month...

My AD test did come up positive but was quite faint to start with.....I actually did another one today as I have no symptoms at all and was starting to feel a bit of a fraud.....the line is darker but not as dark as the control line and i'll be weeks on sunday xxx

    Hi Xanthe06,

So sorry for your loss.:grouphug: I said on one of my earlier posts I think I had a m/c at 4 weeks 2 months ago and am still TTC. There is a more positive side to a m/c and that is it does show that we can conceive which is half the battle. As hard as it is we need to hang on to that hope. A friend of mine had 5 m/c before she had her little boy then another mc after him and is now 12 weeks pg so there is hope. I'm certain m/c are far more common than reported. We're only now knowing about them because we're all symptom spotting and taking tests before AF is even due so we know about pg's so much earlier than our own mothers would have. I'm not convinced that this is a good thing as it's human nature to look at the things that aren't right in our lives rather than the things that are. Take care Xanthe06 but hang on to that hope that one day you will hold your own beautiful baby in your arms, it's what keeps us going.

I know what you are saying but I'm not convinced its a good thing. Sometimes I wish I hadn't conceived the 2 times I have as its cruel to have something for just a couple of weeks then have it snatched away.
Other times I am glad to have had the experience of being pg.

I have a cousin, younger than me and she has been told there is no chance at all that her and her hubby will conceive together.
She said as heartbreaking as that fact is she is glad its that way rather than be like me and lost 2.

xanthe I miscarried at 8 weeks a month ago; yesterday would have been my 12-week scan. We are trying again. I got made redundant today so I guess we will have the time to BD properly :rotfl:

Just try again when you are ready. (((hugs)))

I know what you mean Shelly, I guess everyone is different. I would agree it is easier for those that have been told there is no chance but then what about the rest of us that don't know for certain? We keep trying month after month in the hope we will be able to conceive, it is almost more cruel in a way I guess because m/c keeps our hopes alive. As I said in my earlier post though if we were more like our mothers we would be none the wiser about alot of these m/c and perhaps that is what nature intended.

    Totally agree with that.

Even though the tests I have are early detection ones that I bought from AD I doubt I will ever use them to test early.
Personally I don't see any point at all in testing early. I prefer to wait until I am at least 5 days late incase AF is just late.

It worries me that alot of women on this thread (and the other one) are quite obsessed with testing early. All the stress and pressure does them absolutely no good at all. (apart from not being moneysaving, even if they do only cost pennies :D )

When I saw my GP a few weeks ago and he asked if I was trying again, he started ranting about how he didn't like the "early" tests and how only about ten years ago everyone was told to only test on the day AF was due, and not before. He said it does absolutely nothing for your mental health if you get a positive test then start bleeding a few days later. Like you've said, years ago you would have just thought you were a few days late and not think much of it, but now for all those who have an early positive and then bleed will always know it was a(nother) m/c.
  • oooo, i never saw this thread!

Hi everyone, I am still here...
Congratulations to all those wonderful BFPs!!!! May we have some this month!!!!

I still have my 'cold' lingering... A bit of sore throat, a bit of cough, a bit of a full nose (but not runny at all, just feels full!!!). I am on CD19/~28, although it was anything from 26 to 30 over the past few months. I think I OVed earlier this month, at around day 13, so AF might show up much earlier.

I think I still have a hope that we can get pregnant, but as the time goes, that hope goes as well. Trying not to symptom spot - I have been trying to tie every single niggle over the last 14 cycles to pg symptom, that whatever I get now I just tell myself that I had it in the last months and I didn't get BFP in the end. But, to be honest, I don't have any symptoms to spot. Apart from.... a bit more CM that I would expect. But then - I have that silly cold and that could explain it easily. I am also going away for a long weekend - we are going to say happy birthdays to OH parents and we are going to spend a day with friends who had their first baby after long battle this summer and we are going to be godparents! We went shopping this weekend and got some cutest gifts : couple of tops and a sleeping bag, as well as a toy. And you know what - it wasn't too bad. I can't say it was easy to do the baby shopping for another child, but it was much easier than couple of months ago, when I fell into tears on leaving Mamas&Papas... I am getting used to idea that we may not be able to get to the finish on our own? Don't know. Maybe.

Sorry for a ramble... But I need to let it out sometimes...
