I've just unwrapped mine, but haven't started using it yet.

The instructions for mine say that you should try to test all from the same batch, but that if the machine asks you for more than 10 tests in a month, then its fine to use some from a different batch (as they come in sets of 10). If I have any left over in a batch, I plan to keep them and use them if I have a month where I need more than 10 tests. I'm also guessing that after a few months, I'll have a good idea how many tests I'll have to do in a month, and if the answer is 5 or less, then one batch of sticks should last 2 months.

I'm also hoping (of course) that I don't need to use it for more than a few months, so won't need a huge number of batches of sticks (but then again was hoping I wouldn't need to buy one at all...)

To give you some kind of indication of how many sticks the machine *may* ask for you to use.....During my first cycle I used 16 sticks. During this cycle I have used 10 sticks.
Next cycle I might use even less because now the monitor knows roughly when I ov so it will probably ask me to use my first stick later in the cycle.

    Good luck with it!

Congrats to the new BFP-ers! :j

Skintchick - I can sympathise with it being difficult (as I'm sure many other people can) having announcements and births going on. A colleague of mine brought her new baby in, and I just had to get my head down and keep working, or I'd have been in floods

Having said that, it is good to hear of TLP's turning into BFP's on here :D
  • Hi guys, I hope no-one minds me posting here but I've lurking for a while and you seem so friendly.

OH and I got married just under a year ago, both definitely want babies and although we haven't officially started TTC, we've not really been trying not to conceive, if you know what I mean!

Basically this month I convinced myself that I might be pregnant- I've had dizzy spells, lots of clear discharge (TMI!), nausea and certain foods have made me feel very sick (and I'm not usually a sicky person at all). AF is due 5th (Wednes) but did a test today and got a BFN. I'm gutted and am now realising just how much I want a baby.

Sorry for off-loading but I can't really talk to anyone about it in real life, and feel a bit like I'm going mad!

Baby dust and glue to everyone who needs it, and a huge congrats for all the BFPs on here this month

GracieP - that's a lovely idea. If all works out this time, I think I'll be around 22wks on my first due date.

  • Hi ladies, just to say thanks to Shelly, nicole and Gracie for your nice replies-am feeling more positive and rearing to go again at attempt no. 2, just got to wait till my bits are ready to go too, they are way behind me at the mo :p
    Good luck to all ;)
  • Hello good luck to everyone on here. I have a ds and are trying again.
I thought i was pg but sadly not 3 months back I was over a week late then when af came it was only light spotting the next month was the same just light spotting for one day only. Then a last month i had cramps which i never normally get and i had my af big style sorry if tmi but i also had lots of clots one of which was quite big and dark. I can't help thinking may be i was pg but mc'd I don't know having never gone through it before but i have never had anything like that before and am noramlly like clock work too.
Got af this week and it is back to normal so not pg this month, is anyone trying for a certain sex by eatting different foods having sex at certain times etc i long for a girl i know that sounds bad as any baby is a blessing.

This could almost have been written by me! We're in almost the same position, we'll have been married for a year in less than 2 weeks and we a pregnancy scare few months ago where is was over a week late but never got a BFP, but ever since then I haven't been able to stop thining about having a baby, it's made me really want it so we've discussed it decided to come off the pill this month, we're not "trying" officially but we're not doing anything to stop us getting pregnant either, I am going to try desperately not to get obsessed with it but I can feel myself slipping already!

I'm around ovulation now i think and we're been BD'ing regularly this month, in fact i'm enjoying BD'ing more now that i know something could come of it (if you know what i mean?)

So can i join your little clan too? I've been reading this thread for a while and have been nervous about making the leap onto this thread because then it's official....but i've done it now.... oh my god...what am i doing!!!

    A little advice please.

After thinking I might not be ovulating this cycle because I was so stressed I have today developed some very obvious EWCM. This would be completely fabulous was it not for the fact that this mornings attempt to BD was interupted (stupid posty ) before the crucial moment and the moment was then lost. We have BD'd 5 and 3 days ago so I know pregnancy is perfectly possible, in fact my egg could be meeting one of his swimmers as I type. But I'd really like to give it another go tonight to be safe.

We did say this morning that we'd have an early night tonight, in the aftermath of our coitus interuptus, but my dh is working long hours (as always) and is pretty tired. But now I'm feeling like we really have to and I may go a bit mad. When we were trying before my miscarriage we agreed that it would be best for me not to tell him if I was ovulating so he'd feel more relaxed and loved and less like a horse out to stud. But back in those innocent days (3 whole months ago ) it was a much less intense affair.

Should I mention that I'm ovulating when I call him later? Have any of ye found that it makes things easier or harder for the guy? If I mentioned it, it may make it easier on him as he would know what to expect when he comes home. Whereas if I just spring at him insatiably I might frighten him off. (I feel like I'm talking about him like he's a lost bunny or something.:o) But last time I was ovulating was a few weeks after the mc and he wasn't ready and I went nuts and smashed a plate. I really don't want to repeat that.:o:o:o

Also I know that by thinking too much I'm only stressing myself out and making conception less likely. It all seems very unfair, I wish I was a dog and could go into heat and he'd find me irresistable until he'd impregnated me. Of course then I'd have to stay indoors as all the other men would react the same way and my actual dogs would get no walk. As they aren't now as I am typing this.:rotfl: So I'm going to stop typing the weirdest post to ever grace these boards and walk my dogs, and I will probably have talked to him before I get back to read any replies anyway.

Stupid postman, I wouldn't be having this dilemna now if he had been 10 minutes later. At least my dh liked his new ebay shoes. :)
