Phew! Finally made it through the whole thread - what an emotional rollercoaster!
Kenco, I'm so pleased you're finally getting somewhere, you sound so much happier, I have everything crossed
I may not be out of the running just yet, after BD this morning there was a little pink when I wiped so I assumed AF was on her way but so far nothing...
Note to self - step away from the test:rotfl:0 -

I think it's a combination of uterus stretching and trapped wind. Fingers tightly crossed for you. I also check for blood every time I go to the loo. I haven't quite get used to the lovely gushing feelings of discharge in pregnancy yet and expect to see bright red every time! I think it is normal to feel like that x x
Thanks GiSi, I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets these cramps, and it's great to know I'm not the only one constantly checking everytime I go to the loo;)
This thread is definitely keeping me sane at the moment, thanks everyone:T0 -
Hiya all iv been lurking here for a while and finally got up the bottle to post something. We have been trying for a year at the end of may and Im heart broken as everyone I know seems to be having babies. My ohs brother just called tonight to say his gf is pregnant after only having her implant removed 6 weeks ago
I havent got the balls to see a doctor as Im terrified of them and Its not something I like talking about. Most websites I have read all say that if your under 30 its best to try for 2 years before seeing a doctor anyway.
Ive read this thread (well most of it) as I do have a life and it would take me weeks to read it all lol and your all so brave I cry every month when mines arrives!
We BD at least twice a day every day (yes were total sex pests!) and I probably like everyone else in the begining thought it would be easy but its obviously not.
Dunno what the point to this post was but well done for you all for being brave and wonderful lol oh yeah... and hello0 -

This could be where your problem lies. I was told by a fertility doctor that a normal healthy fertile couple should have sex every 2-3 days. This keeps sperm at its optimum.
This was mentioned on the program a while ago 'The Great Sperm Race' I have linked to the page here.... http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-great-sperm-race/articles/fertility-tips-for-men
it says....
1. Ejaculate regularly
Evidence shows that men who ejaculate regularly (every two or three days) have healthier sperm than men who ejaculate too frequently or who try and save up sperm in an attempt to increase the numbers of sperm in their ejaculate. For the best chances to conceive, have intercourse two or three times per week and don't masturbate in between time!
It also helps if you know roughly when you ov each month. Definately have sex around that time so that the sperm is there ready for when the egg is released.
HTH & good luck:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Hey...you're not thick at all. None of us know everything, that's why the TTC threads are so great. We all help eachother out with help and advice.
I must admit that years ago when I was a teenager I believed the common misconception that not having sex for ages meant the sperm would get stronger and more concentrated. (schoolgirl chat  )
Believe me when I say I am 33 years old and have been TTC successfully for 5 years now and I'm still learning new things.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi Emmzy,
Welcome, I think it's a general concensus that when we all start TTC we really only know the basics! A few months down the line when obsession has set in we probably know as much as the average GP! lol!
Don't think we're all brave, we have good months and Bad, we started TTC 2 years ago now but the first 18 months of this it wasn't going to happen for us because I had an undiagnosed pituitary tumour. I am finding it harder in the respect of not conceiving but easier to pick myself up each month. Where I used to get very down for a few days after AF it's now really one AF has shown it's on to next month! We're just about to go for further testing well DH has to do his bit and I' ve just had my bloods done for progesterone and to check ov. Although I bought a clearblue fertility monitor a few months ago to reassure me that I was ovulating.
So welcome again and remember that no question is a stupid one!0 -
Hi MadMac,
i'm not that stressed, just get so worked up waiting to see if AF arrives or not. Never wanted it to not show up so badly!
(think other reason I was so stressed the other day was that found out friend had fallen pregnant by accident)
Think I'm stressing for me + partener now as he's recently read something about mumps making you sterile.... he had mumps when he was 19, don't think he's letting on how worried he is.
Feeling better today though as it is still early days, and havn't been trying for long.
really feel for those of you who have been trying for a long time, hoping u all get lucky soon xApril Wins - 4 Galaxy books, 2 Cadburys boxes, Liz Earle skincare, 10x Cosmo wins, Radio 1 big weekend tickets0 -

Hi.
Mumps can make a man infertile but not all men who have them are left infertile.
My hubby had mumps at 17 and we have been pg twice and his sperm tests came back as normal.
Is it affecting your partners performance at all? If it is a doctors visit can't hurt to see about getting a sperm test done.

Hi Bertie, I can only agree with Shelly - it doesn't always mean infertility, but if you are both worried then a trip to the doctor might just put your minds at ease?
Welome Emmzy :hello: We all start out as novices you know, so I wouldn't worry at all - you'll end up probably with too much knowledge as Becs says!
I am now on CD19 and have been enlightened as this is my first month of basal waking temperature charting - it is amazing to see your temperature shoot up so much and be able to say 'ooh, I've ovulated!' so now I will wait for it to drop off again and I'll know AF is coming. Bizarre! Next month I'll start watching for my cervix to drop and soften - how sad is that
Good to have each other through the madness!
Kencokenco - that is such great news! We'll look forward to the next instalment x0
