Hello everyone,

Whata fab thread, just came across it and i too havent had chance to read it all but will do! Keep having to refer to the abbreviations page to understand!! lol

Anyway its great to hear other peoples stories cos u dont like to talk about this sort of thing to all ur friends so any advice is greatly received.
I stopped taking my pill at the end of october last year and being niave i guess i thought it would happen quickly 4 me... dont ask me why maybe we all do!
Since then i have only had 2 periods the last being 9th feb, having done a couple of tests i soon gave up as they were always negative.
Since found out that i was probably not ovulating anyway and my body is stil adjusting to coming off the pill after 15 years! Thought it might take a couple months not 6!!

Anyway saw my gp this week who is running a few tests to make sure nothin underlyin goin on and all i can do is wait!!

Just wandered how long u have been off the pill only my cycles are also between 40 - 50 days and its becoming very frustrating that i have no idea where i am, iv just come across this thread so am workin my way thru readin it all,

Hi guys not been on here for a while, been mega busy with work stuff.
anyway I'm still new to this thread but am going to make an effort now to be more involved from now on.
Been trying for 3 months now but still nothing, AF due on 14th I think, (cycles have been regular for last 4 years but since TTC they seem to have gone mental!, must be all the stress of waiting etc)
don't think i'll be getting BFP this month as have not had much chance to DTD, however hoping that next month will be the month as have bought a LOAD of ovulation tests off Ebay + I'm ready to go, just gotta wait for AF to come + go now....

Hi kmckee999,

My last pill packet was in December so I have been off of the pill since January this year and have only had two periods. It is driving me mad! I was on the pill 12 years before now. I'm not sure if its the pill coming out of my system or me just stressing.

My body is also doing lots of wired stuff, I get lots of coming on/period feelings but then nothing happens.

We are going to stop using contraception this month and start TTC from May but I think it is going to take a while because of my 40 day cycles!

Well I've got to contact the Early Pregnancy clinic tomorrow, so may have to go for a scan, did a pregnancy test tonight and it's still positive so that seems like a good sign and have had no more bleeding so fingers crossed

Hi CatwOman hope your scan went ok, if the bleeding stopped that is a very good sign. I've had bleeding twice so far in this pregnancy (12w now) but everything is ok.

Leopardlady and Nikabella, I'm so sorry to hear your news, pm me if you want to chat. As they say, at least you know you can get pregnant and if you are like me it wont be long before you get pregnant again - I got pregnant again in the first cycle after my mc. So far everything is going well but it is stressful and I still check the tissue every time I wipe for blood.

Thanks Jennynoo, it is very reassuring to hear from those who have had a mc and then concieved and kept the bean
I hope that the rest of your pg runs smoothly and you are able to relax. My OH and I are very keen to get back in the saddle.

My GP is wanting to do a pg test next week, but me being the silly one, did a cheapie today and it came back bfn, so i know completely that i can start again. This easter could be very good fun

Hope you are ok Catowoman, if you can please keep us informed.

Jennynoo, so pleased you're doing well - I can understand your stress, but try to not worry to not and the months ahead will be very exciting ones for you x

Twinklie - your post made me laugh! Yup, my brother-in-law always fell ill during the school holidays so I suppose it goes with the profession! Well, as I'm always saying you just never know when luck will come your way, so that sickness might not be for AF - but otherwise, welcome to the TTC club x

Kmckee999 - I came off the pill years ago and it took 10 months for my cycle to settle - but as I wasn't then consciously TTC I didn't notice whether I was OV or not, but I'm sure somebody more expert will get back to you on that one! It is still fun trying though - welcome anyway!

Hi Bertie1984, are you really finding TTC that stressful? That doesn't sound good! I also started out by buying loads of OV tests and am about to run out :eek: so will have to get ordering again soon. Oh well, at least I still enjoy trying and have managed to avoid SS on the whole so my cycle has stayed pretty similar, touch wood!

Crumbs MadMac, don't say stuff like that...I'm only just getting my head around it. Besides which, the house moving business is getting quite stressful (bloody morgage lenders and solicitors) and I don't think I could cope!!!

Plus I'm living the dream that I'd have a September baby (so it'd have to be next year) so I have the best maternity!!! Not that I've been thinking about it. Ha ha

B2B-2008... thanx for reply i didnt realise that u shouldnt actively start TTC until a few months after stopping the pill so never had that rest time... ooopppss!! oh well had a call from gp today to say that all my bloods have come back ok and my hormones show that im in the leutal phase so must have ovulated at some point which is good news...

Just need more practice i guess!! x
