Hi everyone,
I have only just joined this site so forgive me if I am asking this question in the wrong thread.
I have a little girl who will be two next month, she has been quite poorly since she was six months and therefore I didn't go back to work when my maternity leave finished, thankfully she is doing well now and we have decided to try for another baby, my question is as I haven't worked for over two years will I be entitled to any money at all when the baby comes along, I am a registered childminder now and am hoping to get some children to mind soon and then I can register as self employed but if this doesn't happen I guess I wont be entitled to anything. I am currently cliaming job seekers allowance, worked briefly over christmas but that was only temporary.
Any help would be great
Many thanks0 -
Right we've done ALOT of talking and have decided to wait till December before we start trying. This will hopefully mean the house is done and finished and we will have moved by then. Woop woop.
I feel much better about things now. At least I know where I stand. This will give me chance to start charting my cycles etc so we will have the best chances of conception (and give us some "us" time in our new house).
So my question is now, how soon before trying should I take folic acid supplements and other such random things? Any advice? I'd quite like to feel pro-active even though we aren't trying yet...if that makes sense.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

ok i'm not symptom spotting honest! but the last few days i have had lower back pain, i am shattered all the time and my tum feels full and no it's not easter eggs i haven't had one yet :EasterBun(untill tonight)
I haven't been able to lean or slump over and have had to really sit up.
Af due on tue being a good girl not testing untill late. Not getting hopes up though. Going to be seeing my sil who is pg, for the first time next week since i lost my beanies. As much as i am happy for her i hope she doesn't keep shoving it in my face. she had her last scan so i bet i will have to see the pics when i don't really want to see them. As it will just bring all the pain back. This is my signature!0 -
Happy Easter everyone :easter:
Twinklie, they recommend you take the folic acid at least 3 months before you start trying to give it long enough to build up in your system to make a difference. The charting is really up to you - but if you do a few months then you should get to know your cycle pretty well and when your most fertile days are. That would then certainly help your chances of falling pregnant quickly! Good luck x
Elastigirl, best of luck for seeing your sil - will be thinking of you. No, you aren't SS at all, are you but I'll cross my fingers for you anyway0 -
Thanks MadMac...I've set a reminder on my computer to remind me to order the folic acid closer to the time. I'm hoping that by that time most of you girls won't be here anymore but over on the pregnancy thread instead.

Supermarkets do folic acid. I get mine from Tesco. Or if like me and your diet isn't great you could get a pre-natal mulitvit which contain folic acid already.
I tried pregnacare but it didn't agree with me, now I just have FA everyday.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Shelly - Pregnacare didn't agree with me either! I eventually found the Boots Pregnancy ones and I'm fine on those - if a little, ermm, windy
Twinklie - I used to get the folic acid in Superdrug as they often do the 112 tablet bottles on 2 for 1 x0
