Trying For a Baby II

Mine doesn't want to talk about it at all!! I did tell him this month that we should start BD on a friday and we actually did it on Saturday morning! But that was it. He wasn't interested in doing it at all after that. Its a bit depressing really because I want him to be involved and excited but he's so detached. He never mentions TTC at all. I wonder if it what he really wants. I want to give him an ultimatum but know thats not the way forward here. Not sure what to do really as we've only BDed once at the right time since January because I'm not 'allowed' to say 'now's the time!!' Feel like giving up on him and going to find someone else before its too late. But we've been together for 8 years and I want it all with him.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

Men don't like to think about these things but if he has indicated he wants kids and talking to him wont work then you just have to go ahead and try to do sexy things when you need to have sex, I usually feel sexier around ovulation anyway. Try warm baths before bed, soft lighting, toys usually put my OH off but some lubricant can be quite good (for him!). Lots of snuggling - whatever you find works. Good luck!

My OH just read that and said, 'that's a typical girl answer' so I said, 'so tell me what to put' and he said, 'sush, I'm watching tele and cooking your tea.' Well! At least he is making my tea!

Sounds very well trained!! It would be so obvious if I started with all the sexyness to get laid!! :rotfl: We normally, (by normally I mean occaisionally) just get on with it.. spur of the moment!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

Spur of the moment can be good but usually to make me feel sexy it helps if I've just had a warm bath or shower and shaved my legs. I love clean sheets and a warm bed. And (TMI) had a think about it before hand to get me in the mood!

Hello
This isn't MS (apologies for this) but you're all such a knowledgeable bunch on here and I didn't know where else to post.
I am now on day 5 of being 'late', I took 2 tests over the weekend and yesterday morning which both came back neg. I can't afford another test at the moment and am driving myself crackers thinking I might be pg. I have a 2 year old so am aware of the signs of pregnancy etc. but you know what it's like when you can almost talk yourself into something. I have been getting period type pains since Friday (when I was due on) and slight nausea this morning (but again, this may be because I am stressing about it). Also got some spots along hairline and under chin which I got when I was pg before.
I know nobody can say whether I am or not but I was wondering about the accuracy of the tests I took. These were the Tesco cheap ones (2 for £5 ish) and I took the second one on day 4 of being late, first thing in the morning. These were the ones I used before when I was pg they detected it around the same time.
It's just unusual for me to be late, have been off pill for around 4 months now and charting my cycle, it's normally 29 days but am on day 33 today.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

I suppose the answer is "yes, you could be", but not definitely "yes you are".... which doesn't help very much really. Is it worth booking a doctors appointment? If you can't afford a test, the doctors should let you have one?
I used the cheap ones too (mine were asda I think) and I didn't get a positive result till 6 weeks - I kept getting negatives, and it felt like period pains were starting, so I thought "oh well, not this time" and opened a bottle of wine. Then finally I got a positive result - oops! AFAIK they are all meant to be all about as good as each other these days - I think when you pay extra you're just paying for the brand name on the box.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Well not necessarily... the thing that is important is the sensitivity of the test. Personally (and I know others disagree!) I would go with Clear Blue - they show accurate positives very early (as I proved :rotfl:). remember it's possible to get a false negative but if tests are used correctly then it's not possible to get a false positive
I used Clear Blue and got my positive a day before my period was due...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

If you go to your GP and say that you are late, they will probably do another test for you, won't they? You can get a test for free.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

You can buy 2 tests in Wilkinsons for £1.99, you can also buy them online from wilko0
