Aww Jenny, I really feel for you. It's like you're in limbo isn't it? I bet you'll be glad to find out either way, I don't mean you'd be glad if you've miscarried obviously but just to know where you're upto? Am I making sense? Sorry i'm waffling!! Anyway big hugs hun
Leopardlady - congrats to your friend! Glad little Freddie is holding his own, hope he's okay. And mum of courseMy neice was born 12 weeks early and my sister was in labour for 82 hours (they were trying to stop it - my god it was a long week ) She was 3lb when she was born and was in the neonatal unit for a couple of months but she's fine now, bit small for her age but otherwise she's a perfect little monster
My AF has gone now so yay can get cracking with the baby making! I told my mum we were trying and I thought she'd be quite negative about it but she wasn't which i'm glad about. She lets me waffle on to her now which is good because although OH doesn't stop me waffling I know he's not really listening
Baby dust to all:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Hi everyone, I'm after a little advise if anyone can help.
I stopped taking the pill in February and my periods are really hit and miss, sometimes months without any, if I get on it's either a couple of weeks long or short and patchy. My doctor started me on Metformin a couple of months ago as I also have PCOS. Becuase of not know when my period is due I take a test every now and again to check I'm not pregnant (it's difficult with no regular periods to judge).
Well I took a test this morning and it was positive. I then followed it by another 2 tests which were also both positive. I went straight to the doctor and all he did was check my blood pressure and arrange for me to see the midwife. Is it normal for them not to test at the surgery.
I'm still in shock, this is my 1st baby and I can't believe the results this morning.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

I can't comment on your medical treatment but most docs just take your word for it that you are pregnant. The tests are 99% accurate anyway. Congratulation!!! Hope you have a lovely pregnancy :jMum to DD born Oct 2009

Thanks. Does anyone have any idea how I date it. I had a period 11/09 - 27/09 and then a light and patch one 10/11 - 14/11 (my doctor said this might not have been a 'proper' period). I've done 4 tests altogether now so I'm pretty sure on that front.
Good Luck to everyone else by the way. Sorry if my questions are annoying, you lot just seem very clued up on the whole thing.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -
The second one could have been implantation bleed? Although by the dates it could be too early for that, at it is about 13-17 days after your period. All in all, you could be 9 weeks pregnant!!!!! I would ask for a scan to confirm the dates....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

I hate all this not knowing. What sort of a scan do they do, an ultrasound? Can they be quite accurate on the date front? I am looking around on the web for answers to but sometimes others experiences help. I'd never even heard of an implantation bleed...
9 weeks...imagine that...blimey!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

9 weeks...imagine that...blimey!
Don't worry, most women don't know these things - we are just crazy TTC-ing (trying for a baby...). It is my 16th cycle, and you would not believe the things I read...
I think they can be very accurate on the scan (haven't had one myself yet). I think you would get most information about it on MSE Pregnancy thread. I don't know your situation, but if NHS won't give you one early, the standard one is at about 12 weeks, or you can go private and pay for a scan. And yes, it is ultrasound scan.
Good luck with it all!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Thanks. I have started pestering the Pregnancy thread already. I hope I can get a scan early. I couldn't even guess how far along I am otherwise.
Good Luck to everyone on here. I never thought I'd get pregnant this quickly (under a year) and wasn't prepared for the +ive result at all. So keep at it (as if it's a chore!) and hopefully there'll be much more good news in the new year.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0
